    Drone Hunting Licenses?

    Colorado town residents: It's a bird, it's a plane ... no, it's a drone -- shoot it!

Just as soon as I think we've hit the apex of the anti-government paranoia, we get even more stupid things like this. The possibilities of irresponsible firearm use and associated injuries or deaths is being increased by ordinances like this.

I hope the drone shoots back. I'm sure the drones accuracy is better.

Phone hoovering, internet hoovering, traffic and vehicle hoovering, biometric recognition, public space surveillance, warrantless seizures, DNA databases.

Can't see how drones can upset anyone. Now we can literally stop crime in its tracks: kill it.

Well I guess when you approach any of those topics with the idea the government is out to get you, it does seem like a pretty scary proposition. However, everything you named in addition to drones, have numerous non-nefarious uses and, as I always say, there is no evidence of wide-spread nefarious use of any of those things you mentioned.

I'm also a bit confused by the context in which you made your last statement. Are you implying that committing a crime is a Constitutionally guaranteed freedom and efforts should only be made to prosecute it instead of prevent it?

    Okay...

how are they supposed to tell if it's a federal drone, or a private one?

"Thirty-one* states allow all qualified citizens to carry concealed weapons. In those states, homosexuals should embark on organized efforts to become comfortable with guns, learn to use them safely and carry them. They should set up Pink Pistols task forces, sponsor shooting courses and help homosexuals get licensed to carry. And they should do it in a way that gets as much publicity as possible. "

So it's ok to shoot at somebody's private property?

Where is that included in the law?

I was just addressing your comment. Why is it relevant whether it's government or private?

Because their proposed law/ordinance declares it legal to shoot federal drones. That means people have to be able to know which ones are federal.

Yeah I'm not sure this isn't a moot point. Destroying government property tends to make things awkward between you and the Fed...

You can use the Texas saying. "Shoot first and ask questions later!"

I will pull in Godwin's Law: weren't these called buzzbombs back in WWII?

At the rate these things just fall out of the sky maybe shooting them down is a public service.

Can we see some figures to back that up? Also, I would be willing to bet the percentage of drones that fall out of the sky is much less than the percentage of bullets fired into the air that fall out of the sky.

Statistics from the government/military complex? Where "failure" is "limited success." Good luck. Probably the statistics would be cloaked under national security and we court treason (under a WWI Act) charges for having this discussion.

    Shoot it down.

If it's not federal, throw it back up in the sky. If God wants it to fly, it will.

So basically the claims you make are merely your own opinion with nothing to back them up. As long as we've established it's your opinion, that's fine.
