Federal marriage Amendment has first Democratic backer

    http://www.buzzfeed.com/chrisgeidner...-same-sex-coup

Figured at some point there would be a Democrat joining this wasted effort.
Not shocked at all that he's from West Virginia.
When it comes to gay rights, doesn't really matter whether the person has an D or R next to their name, their views are pretty much the same.
When Jockboy87 was still here,he posted the names of Senators from the Democratic side who were for marriage equality.
And even when the list kept growing, from reading up on him that I knew Joe Manchin would NOT be on that list, nor will he ever be.
He was one of the only Democrats to vote against the repeal of DADT and he wanted DOMA to stay intact.
He's a bigot through and through.

Doesn't matter, that amendment is dead and will not be revisited, even if the GOP were to get back all 3 branches. And even if somehow they were stupid enough to revisit it, it does not have support from 38 states and never will.

U.S. Rep. Nick Rahall (D-West Virginia #02) is nothing but the only remaining House member from his home state.

W.Va. could go the way of Arkansas, which now has Republicans in all four of its congressional districts. W.Va. was racist against Barack Obama, for the primaries before the general election of 2008; and, yet, this state (as also the case with Ark.) would have hypocritically voted in the general to elect Hillary Clinton in that Democratic pickup year of '08.

This is one of those … "Fuck it! It doesn't matter!" … things. (And nearly 40 sponsors isn't shit.)

Nope, the thing is dead and buried for good. As for WV turning Republican,as far as gay rights go for the most part it doesn't make any difference.
Most of the WV Democrats are Blue Dogs and have just as much if less regard for us then many Republicans.
