    Open Relationship Question

I've been kind of missing the freedom of being able to have sex with other guys, and have been considering approaching my boyfriend of 2 years about having an open relationship. I think he'd at least be open to considering it but I myself have some concerns.

It basically all boils down to that I'm kinda jealous. I don't know if the enjoyment I'd get from being with other guys would outweigh the pain I'd have from knowing my guy was out doing stuff with other guys. I was just wondering if anyone had similar feelings or any experience & advice about open relationships they'd be willing to share.

Sounds to me like a quick and easy way to end your relationship.

Why not just do something together, like going to a bathhouse or organizing a threesome?

Enjoyment doesn't negate pain. They co-exist.

So unless you can overcome jealousy, and have complete trust in your boyfriend that he's only into the physical thing, then I'd advise you against open relationship. Even a three-some for me sounds straining enough, cause I'm not sure I can handle the jealousy.

You seem not ready for this, to be honest.

Have you tried role-playing with him?

    Re: Open Relationship Question

Threesomes actually sound worse to me, because I wouldn't want to see someone else getting him off. I'd rather just not know about it.

I was thinking of proposing some rules like no friends, one time things only, etc. so that it just becomes about the sex. I'm not concerned about either of us falling for someone else, just that it'd drive me crazy thinking about him being with other people.

We do roleplay from time to time, but what I really want is just a change of face every now and then. Our sex life is great I just want to explore other people. But not at the expense of ruining my relationship. I'm torn. =/

No, you've already failed. You don't have the personality for an open relationship. You are already jealous, and even if you don't talk about it, it will eat you from the inside. Suck it up and just keep your desires in check.

Or, you know... break up and go slut about. But it's utterly unfair to have this "want to have my cake and eat it" attitude you are showing right now.
