Speaking of Chick Fil A and douchnozzles

So for all you homos out there who still like to chow down on Chick Fil A, hope it doesn't stick in your throat knowing that Dan Cathy couldn't even just keep his greasy fucking maw shut:

"Sad day for our nation; founding fathers would be ashamed of our gen. to abandon wisdom of the ages re: cornerstone of strong societies," Cathy wrote, according to The Atlanta Journal-Constitution. The post was later deleted, but not before screen shots were taken.

Chick-fil-A issued a statement on Thursday saying Cathy was offering a personal comment, not speaking on behalf of the entire organization.

"Dan recognizes his views do not necessarily represent the views of all Chick-fil-A customers, restaurant owners and employees, so he removed the tweet to eliminate any confusion," the statement said.
    http://www.usnews.com/news/newsgram/...s-then-deletes

I think it is more offensive that the message was removed; it should have been left to give a clear signal to all the customers that the guy at the top of the msg and lard sodden Chick Fil A food chain still regards his homo customers with contempt and loathing.

Rick Parry and Texas republicans are repulsive yet I enjoyed the shit out of Dallas, Austin and its people.

I love chik-fil-a and I love taking very sexy gay boys there so the solid christian boys can stare and get a little wood. One step at a time.

Stories about Chick-fil-a's views are about as shocking as a Black Panther wearing a leather coat and dark shades; it's expected.

Call me when they reverse their views and open on Sunday so I can get a #1 with lemonade, no ice.

Didn't they do that a year or so ago after they were flooded with right-wingers? I think it might have had something to do with Prop 8.

^I never heard that they were for gay marriage, only that they were for the "traditional" version of it.

Would be an interesting read to hear that they supported it and backslid.

They didn't really support gay marriage if I remember correctly. The restaurant supported one of the anti-gay Christian groups, after which the Christians supported the restaurant by gathering there for Sunday dinner. I believe Chick Fil A withdrew their support after public outcry and the fact that gays threatened to do the same.

No self respecting gay male or women would ever go there, after what they have said and done.
If they do I am reminded of a speech given by Malcolm X while I do not necessarily prescribe to all he said this works. It was a large meeting in Harlem a large group and he said who in here would be willing to take up arms to fight for your rights. About half of the audience raised there hand's. He then said those ar ethe first ones you may have to shoot.

Basically, as I remember it, there founder and Chairman of the board made anit gay remarks and stands by it as his bigoted faith. The company being publicly traded distanced itself from the idiot. The Christians showed up for a rally day and then the gays did the same thing in many locations.

The same folks comparing it to Malcolm X should definitely be not traveling through or purchasing products from the 37 states with amendments banning gay marriage. Same thing as blaming the CEO views on the rest of the franchises and company. Only problem is most people who make those simple ass claims do not have the weather all to actually follow through but they can manage not to eat chicken. Rather ignorant and misguided but within their rights and if it makes a guy feel good to think he is actually doing something then more power.

Wouldn't it be okay if the christians got together and said how many of you are prepared to kill homosexuals, then when half the room raises their hand, tell them the ones with the hands down are the first ones you kill. Tell me how that goes over in your warped fucking world.

I know a gay guy who eats there but he's also a Christian and doesn't like gay people. I wonder how many of those there are.

I'll never go to a Chic-fil-a. I don't even like driving by one.

And I love that I can call Cathy an ignorant douchenozzle and do my utmost not to support this guy making a dime selling his greasy, fundie chicken. I love being able to say out loud that I hope the last thing he ever sees as he is choking with a chicken bone lodged in his throat is some homo drag queen sprinkling glitter on him. And I love being able to believe that any homo like you who defends and literally supports Cathy by buying his products is ridiculously misguided.

But frankly I also love the fact that you can choose to go there if you wish and that Cathy and Co. are free to believe whatever they want.

But when he and his corp start spending money to deny me and my family the same basic rights as his straight customers have...then I will gladly see his empire crumble to dust and his mouth filled with ashes. And I would do whatever it takes to help him get there.

I'm not about to spend any money on those bigots, but I never spent money there even before I knew about any of this. (I used to think that their advertising campaign was "cute" with the kiddie graphics and the misspellings like chikin, etc.)

I think that chicken breast is insufferably boring (thighs, legs are SO much better!!!!! And wings, too), so that certainly didn't ever motivate me.

**I meant to cover this, too, but I forgot.

Whatever day of the week that 01 August was, in 2012, that was the day of the week they had all those people show up for Chick-Fil-A Appreciation Day or whatever in the hell it was called.

What do you do when someone shows no respect for your opinion? Myself, I'd take my business elsewhere. If the guy said "I support equal marriage because it's a free country, although I will never attend one due to my beliefs" then he'd be a hero. Instead he says "Since I don't support gay marriage, I'll take the profits from my sales to you and make sure your opinion doesn't matter."

The boycott isn't about his opinion, it's about him pushing his opinion on everyone else and showing zero respect for people who feel differently. I think he has earned being looked down on.
Americans need to keep their guns so they can protect themselves from gun violence just like Nancy Lanza did. And like Chris Kyle did. And like Gabby Giffords did. And like Tom Clements did. And like Michael Piemonte. And Joseph Wilcox.

As well it should. When I hear some faux-mo marginalizing the rest of us because of who we are let alone what we think, by defending the right of homophobic corporations to liberally invest in measures that deny us our rights and support legal sexual discrimination it makes me more than just squirm. It makes me want to puke.

As much as the sentiment is right, the list highlights a couple of reasons why this is a problematic arena.

Whereas choosing one of these corporations as an employer may be a good move for a gay man, it doesn't follow that supporting them via purchasing power is a good idea. This list reads like a Who's Who of megacorporations. Favoring them on a single issue is a bit like voting on a candidate on a single issue.

Many if not most of these companies have trampled workers' rights in the dust, engaged in unfair market manipulations, exploited international business loopholes, dodged untold billions in taxes due, trashed our environment, and otherwise acted as terrible citizens. As an example, Disney employs one of our fellow JUB members, and full-time, but provides no health insurance. How shitty is that for a company with pockets that deep?

As for the list, it also only focuses on very large businesses, and ignores the plethora of medium businesses that are much more innovative and progressive.

The truth is, the boycott of CFA is our point of integrity. They still have terrific sales figures, just less than they could have in some markets. And, as has been stated over and over, they are fully a privately-owned company. Like backwater dictatorships the world over, they can stew in their juices as long as they want until their leader dies.

In the end, I won't eat there because I don't want be seen in such a malicious company's environs, not because my $8 makes an effective statement, or because CFA would be able to look over into Popeye's quarterly sales reports and see my gay dollars there.
