Paula Deen Offered Six-Figure Pay Day By Porn Company

Following her admission that she made racist remarks, companies have been dumping Paula Deen left and right, but there's at least one that's eager to offer Deen a new gig.

TMZ reports that a porn company that features older women called PureMature.com sent a letter to Deen offering her a six-figure deal to endorse the site.

"Full figured or thin, arthritic or diabetic -- you embody our perfect spokesperson," the company wrote to Deen, adding that she's a "MILF," and they are willing to offer her "6 figures for very little work," since there is no nudity required.

Despite the fact that Deen has now been dropped by The Food Network, Walmart, Target, JC Penney, her book publisher Random House and other companies, it seems unlikely that Deen would sign on, even as she loses millions.

This proves that there are people more stupid than Ms. Deen.

She won't be desperate for money soon, and it won't be because some porn company cashed in on her misfortune. She may not rebound with the speed of Martha Stewart from the ashes, but she'll be back, and on the air again. These sorts of village mobs don't last long. The public quickly bores with the orgy of blame and moves on to find a new target.

Was the porn site one of those where the fat chick squishes food between her toes, or where the fat chick sits on the skinny guy and squishes him?

Looks like Paula Deens' supporters have been attacking the wrong channel, proving that Wendy Williams (the heavy metal/punk matriarch, not the Queen of All Media) was right when she said there is no hope for the wretched...

A lot of people use racial slurs privately in their home. I know plenty of black people use the N word and since a lot of black rappers use the N word too it is a bit hypocritical.

Now for me personally, if I knew someone who CONSTANTLY used the N word around me, I would be offended. But it someone used the N word in a moment of anger, of if they were trying to make a point about something maybe i would understand it.

I think it depends on the context, in which the word is used. Truth be told, plenty of black folks use the N word although plenty of black people won't admit it that we do use the N word. I know myself and even people in my family use the N word.

I think when I use the N word I'm trying to make a point.

    This.

I'm sure she had made lots of money and doesn't need to work. All these people have a window of time for their fame and fortune and then someone new comes on the scene.

Paula's fans are most likely just like her and don't care if she is racist. They will continue to follow her and pay to view her. These cooking shows are like any other form of entertainment--they are about the money. In time, some producer will put her back on the air for that reason.

Now wherever could that notion have come from? Could it be that the media incessantly harped on it? Could it be that the very fact that we have the expression "the N-word" in our lexicon means that we've given that taboo more power that it ever had in Jim Crow days?

    Yeah, I think so.

My point was that there is little to tar Paula Deen with, aside from her mouth, as her heart didn't seem to be malicious. Even the complaint in the lawsuit makes it plain that Bubba is the real Bubba.

There aren't folks coming out of the woodwork to say, "Oh, yeah. Paula's always been a hateful bigot." That just isn't out there.

Is she culpable for being a party in the ownership of that restaurant where all those alleged discriminations occurred? Yep.

Is it credible that she has been very active in a day-to-day operation of that restaurant with all her other on-air and publishing businesses? Nope.

She should be held financially accountable for a business she part-owned.

She should be branded with the thoughtless words she used.

But, she should be excoriated for the ones that got away from decades and centuries past. There just isn't any evidence that she was ever personally odious.

Show me a senator who filibustered against the civil rights legislation.

Show me a middle-class soccer mom who worked to keep her neighborhood lily-white.

Show me a Mormon who adopted a Native child and told him his skin would turn white if he pleased God enough.

Show me a white school board that did away with the valedictorian position because it was always a Chinese student, year after year.

But, a passing word doesn't a monster make. Jessie Jackson wasn't suddenly an unforgivable bigot when he said "hymietown," and Paula isn't for saying "little niggers."

"Show me a middle-class soccer mom who worked to keep her neighborhood lily-white."

Well, since you asked, they live in Philadelphia. South 7th near Passyunk. I'm afraid I can't give you her actual address in good conscience. But here's certainly enough gentrification going on, among other things. Everywhere my poor ass goes it's going on - I notice because they move in poor white people to get rid of poor black people and then they kick out the poor white people in about a year, year and a half and move in the middle class, and it just goes in circles. As for the others, the senators from the civil rights legislation era are dead (to my knowledge) but certainly not long-dead as these things go. Re; the Mormons and Native American abuses, I couldn't say because they're not in my area, but if you'd like to Google current atrocities against the Native Americans (those that we haven't managed to murder yet, anyway) that're being committed by our government and religious personnel, they're pretty blatant. As for the schools administration abolishing valedictorian because a Chinese person wins it every year, again I wouldn't personally know - the town I mostly grew up in was lily-white. Which really says it all.

It isn't the specter of the hateful bigot that frothes at the mouth that most middle Americans should be worried about. They're there, but they're also usually easy to spot within a few minutes of contact. It's the quiet racism that people espouse and hold up in all the little things that add the hell up. Paula's comment is a good example of it, that underlying thought process that lets those concepts slip out.

I do find it hypocritical of her old sponsors to drop her, however, as they only dropped her cuz it came to light, not because it actually happened. God love that almighty bottom dollar.

I'm not sure that statement can be backed up. If her sponsors never had any information that suggested she was a racist, this was their first revelation, so the would indeed argue that it is for her offenses that constitute racism. Of course this plays into the argument that she is indeed not a racist, as she has been a public figure for several decades, and nothing of this sort has bubbled up before. If it were a credible accusation, there would be more revelations coming out every day. Former co-workers and associates would be adding another faggot to the pyre every day to help it burn. But, they're not. It's just the same old crowd who hated her anyway, and now they have a silver bullet.

As for the litany of damaging racist problems, my list was not to deny those things are still happening, only to illustrate that there must be some damage demonstrated. The offenses were all actual.

But, I can say "Fuck Cheney!" and it only represents animus against a former enemy, not any action on my part to harm Dick Cheney or his cause. It is an effete outburst without much power. Not admirable, but not significant.

Of course, in Paula's case, it is clear she didn't even use the word in malice or in the presence of a black person, only condescendingly, apparently without even contempt. She had reduced blacks to characters instead of equals. The assertion that there are "underlying thought processes" at work would need to be proven; in Ms. Deen's case, that will be very difficult, as thought doesn't seem to play a role often.

That racism burrows underground is not a revelation. The question is whether the tide is going out or coming in. I believe in people, and I see it going out, not coming in.

I haven't "followed" the whole Paula Deen saga, but it seems she just said some stupid things without thinking (there's a surprise). I also believe that if, when she said these things, someone would have said "hey, that's not right", she would have been totally embarrassed, and that exchange would have yielded a positive response. What's happening now is just an attack and piling on as if she suggested the re-introduction of Jim Crow laws.

Re: Paula Deen fired from Food Network for racist comments made in the past

I can't really speak towards the whole "N" word thing, as I'm not black, but had the same circumstances occurred and she'd said "Faggot" instead, would I be offended? Sure... a little. Would I hold it against her in the same way she's being treated now?

No... I really don't think so.

There was a time in my life when I could have been devastated by things people said to me, or about me, but ultimately I've since learned that whole "sticks and stones..." thing, I consider the source, and attempt to be the bigger man and not hold peoples' ignorance against them (too much).

Do I think she's legitimately sorry? Yes.
Do I think she's trying to cover her ass and save her business? YES.
Do I think she should be raked through the coals THIS much over it? No.

I think she learned her lesson, and I think there's a lot worse grievances going on in the world in general, and worse things that other celebrities are doing than what her circumstances are.

The big question is, why didn't she know?

J-Lo has like so many people working for her, and people for who work for her people as well. Didn't anyone in her entire entourage of literally hundreds of people working for her, have ANY idea where she was performing, and who she was performing to?

But hey, when you're paid $1.5 million to perform and sing happy birthday, it's convenient to "not know".

I don't think y'understand what I mean when I say underlying thought processes. I don't mean "Underneath it all, she did it out of malice". I mean "underneath it all, America as a whole is taught through those same offhand comments (among other things) that everyone but white people are lesser cuz of their race in one form or another, and some of it sticks no matter how good your intentions are - and it shows in what we say in offhand comments." It isn't only limited to America, either. This isn't a "what she is" conversation, it's more of a "What she did" conversation. I don't care what she is (well, besides a really bad cook, I mean, Christ, every time I try and find a recipe her mediocre-at-best recipes come flying to the fore, and her actively atrocious ones aren't that far behind), but I do care what she did. I'm sure I've said some racist shit. I'm 30, there's no way in hell I've lived thirty years and not said some racist shit. That doesn't mean I did it deliberately, or that I'm not sorry. In the same vein, I'm also sure everyone else (and I do mean everyone) has said some racist shit, because that's how the world currently works. It never ceases to amaze me how people can spot racist shit others are doing/have done and not even consider that they, too, have done it themselves. Because it's not only big-R racists that say, well, racist shit.

He also has an excellent vid titled "No Homo"
