Romney still as clueless as ever.

In a recent interview, Mitt Romney regrets that Hurricane Sandy caused so much damage....to his Presidential run.

Was he sorry that all those people lost their homes and lives? Nope. He's sorry that it gave Obama a chance to beat him in the elections. (Because Obama was obviously losing 0 to 538 before Sandy hit!)

Still as clueless as ever, Mittens.

It really is astonishing what sails over that man's head.

His brain does not process information in the way that most of us do. He has a remarkable inability to empathize with other people. This makes him quite arrogant but also unable to appreciate the fact of his own arrogance. It is a weird thing to watch. It is sometimes even humorous - like when he suggested during the campaign that students having trouble affording college should just borrow the money from their parents. Duh!

I'm sure he is a fine person in many ways. But, the word that comes to mind when I think of him is "creepy." He makes me tremendously uncomfortable.

But remember, immediately after it happened your Obama went campaigning, before visiting the site of the storm.

Remember how the original Mr. Caring .... our dear beloved leader told the Sandy victims he would cut the 'red tape' and ensure that people would get answers within 15 minutes? No? Neither does Mr. Obama.

If you look at any video of the coast -- things pretty much look the same except for a few high profile areas. Houses off their foundations, trash and garbage everywhere.

FEMA and the Red Cross has not even come close to releasing money due the victims.

    What's the holdup?

Since Romney didn't win the election -- I'd be more concerned with how your hero is performing -- not what the loser says.

He's the pampered son of a millionaire businessman / governor, born with a silver spoon in his mouth. He has no concept of what the real world is like as he's never been in it. He managed to get out of the Vietnam War by riding his bicycle around France promoting his cult, no doubt with help from his Father.

He's still pouting over his loss because he's not used to getting everything he wants. Since everything in the world has been handed to him, that's normal to his kind. Unfortunately what's normal to him isn't reality.

Not sure if you read the articles to which you have linked, jack.

The first points out that the Red Cross - a nongovernmental organization - has spent two-thirds of the money it has raised for Sandy. It points out that holding on to the final third may be a wise move for dealing with the long-term effects of the disaster.

The second points out that "the government has spent tens of billions of dollars in an attempt to restore affected communities" with pretty reasonable results. It points out that much more money will be forthcoming as the cleanup proceeds.

If Obama had appointed a judge from the International Arabian Horse Association as director of FEMA (and such person had failed to do his job), I might understand some basis for complaint here. But, in fact, by nearly all accounts, the response to Hurricane Sandy has been a model of government effectiveness.

As far as "houses [being] off their foundations," did you expect that everything that was destroyed would have been rebuilt in just a little over 7 months????

...ahh, back to the "gotcha politics" and sound bite opinions. Watch the whole interview...the CONTEXT was "what were the factors that led to his loss"...NOT what was the impact of Hurricane Sandy on the world. Now if you take that soundbite an apply it to the later as you would suggest, then yes...he is clueless. If you take the soundbite in the context of the whole conversation and not just carved up to be spoon fed to the unintelligent masses, then the fact that the hurricane "stalled" his campaign's momentum and provided Obama to be presidential at a time of increased scrutiny, then his remarks seem perfectly reasonable when adding those factors to everything else...including that he couldn't connect to a human being even if he was holding a puppy!

I am not gonna defend Romney, but I would hope people are intelligent enough to use some critical thinking of their own and cut through the bullshit that both sides are spewing out.

    Don't believe everything you see!

I had a friend who lived in an area that was wrecked by Hurricane Floyd in 99. It took the area three years to fully recover. Bottom line,it will take 1-3 years for full rebuliding and even after that, the shore will NEVER be the same.

Look, everyone -- Jack is calling for bigger government!

"Thirty-one* states allow all qualified citizens to carry concealed weapons. In those states, homosexuals should embark on organized efforts to become comfortable with guns, learn to use them safely and carry them. They should set up Pink Pistols task forces, sponsor shooting courses and help homosexuals get licensed to carry. And they should do it in a way that gets as much publicity as possible. "

Understandable because Romney is / was an embarrassment to their party.

Why didn't he release his tax returns?

Barack Obama will be your President for another 3.5 years Springer. He's doing a pretty good job cleaning up the mess Bush made with his 8 years of corruption.

I sure hope you don't plan on voting for another republican in 2016 that will make a mess like we had with the previous 5 republican Presidents.

What do you know about what is happening here, Jack? Both the Jersey Shore and coastal NYC and LI have bounced back tremendously, in no small part with the help of the federal government. Much of the federal money was distributed to NYC, New York State and New Jersey. The last link of our subway system., and expansive bridge over Jamaica Bay to the Rockaways that the storm washed out, just reopened. Surfers from Manhattan can once again take the subway to the beach. Much of the boardwalk areas in New Jersey and NYC have been restored and businesses have reopened. Many homes have not been rebuilt, but that will take time. Some will be bought out by the state and not rebuilt.

Unfortunately for New Orleans, Hurricane Katrina hit under the most incompetent president in our lifetimes. I'm glad Obama was president when Sandy hit.

My mom decided that Romney is an extra terrestrial -- a terrestrial we could all do without. This just demonstrates it again: real people and the real world are alien to him.

Your mom is a sage. Case in point: Gov. Etch-a-Sketch was in your typical diner during the campaign. He was unable to identify a chocolate donut. If he's not an E.T., he is the latest version of audio-animatronics.
