Not knowing much about towns in N. Texas I have attached a map. The tornadoes are well north of West Tx but not so good in Dallas/Ft Worth area. That part of Texas has more than it's share of tornadoes. Most go from SW to SE. One a decade or so ago went from N to S. Very unusual. Stories are sketchy right now, just wait til the cable media wakes up.

At least 6 confirmed dead in Texas tornado

GRANBURY, Texas —

At least six people were killed Wednesday as a spring tornado outbreak devastated parts of North Texas, destroying or damaging dozens of homes and injuring dozens of people.

The worst-hit city Wednesday was Granbury, where authorities say a deadly tornado tore through two neighborhoods about 8 p.m. Hood County Sheriff Roger Deeds delivered the death toll at a midnight news conference.

That's awful! Those poor people.

Wonder if it's God punishing Texas for giving the country George W Bush and Rick Perry? It's too bad people have to suffer and die because of those two. Better ask Pat Robertson.

Last night on the news, they said that people from West, Tx. came to Granbury to help with assisting the people of Granbury. That's how it is done in Texas.

My home is closer to the NW part of the circle around West.



Californians talk about Earthquakes.

Those who live on the East Coast talk about Hurricanes.

If you live in the "Mid West" the "fly over states," or within "Tornado Alley" those storms are just a part of growing up here.

Whitney, Texas where I collect my mail was established in 1882.

There aren't many historic buildings or homes from that era that remain.

Why?

Because the whole town has been destroyed by tornadoes at least three times, and completely burned to the ground from prairie fires at least twice in the past 130 years.

But we still choose to live here.

That's perhaps the one thing that unites us over "politics."

It's our home. It's where we live.

And no matter what gets thrown at us, or comes at us, or happens to us, we unite; as Neighbors, as Texans, as Americans.

Which is why our Spirit will never be broken through acts of terrorism, lack of government oversight, or acts of God.

I just realized when I reread my post with the map. I said tornatoes move SW to SE. I meant to say SW to NE. That's routine way.
