Problem is that so many of these people on the street are far from homeless. 60 minutes did an expose on this and interviewed people on the streets (New York) who were begging for money or selling pencils or whatever. Some of them admitted to making $50,000/year doing it and even showed the reporter his new car, parked only two blocks from where he begs on the street. Yes, it was his car, had registration and keys and started it and drove away. Yes, there are REAL homeless people out there but some of them are professional panhandlers who are better off than most of us.
