Republican House votes to end overtime, assault on "Working Families" continues

    http://www.addictinginfo.org/2013/05...exibility-act/

Republicans, proving themselves to be the true enemies of the USA, voted to repeal overtime laws for wage workers!

All this comes on the news that payroll taxes have doubled over the past 20 years while corporate taxes have fallen 50%.

The GOP is trying as hard as possible to destroy American families.

    terrible bill.

fortunately, it's going to go nowhere in the Senate.

Since most employers don't provide time off for employees to go to a doctor's appointment or attend their children's school activities during work time -- this is not such a bad idea -- it expands the choices an employee has.

The bill also requires the employer to pay the employee if the time off is not taken.

It appears you've read headlines and not the guts of the bill. First time I've ever seen this site -- looks like a left wing blog -- be wary of what you believe from sites like this both on the right and left.

in theory, maybe... the problem is that the time off is at the discretion of the employer (eg: school activities or medical appointments notwithstanding, the employer can tell the employee to get bent if it's not a convenient time to take off), and there's really no protection against employers punishing employees asking for monetary compensation by cutting their OT and giving it to people willing to take the time off instead.

I thinks it's sad that employers have pretty much done away with sick leave and excused absence. At least this bill address some of those issues with a new solution.

I don't know enough about the bill to say anymore.

I thinks you should provide documentation for this claim.

I don't know enough about the bill to say anymore.
    Then why say anything?

QFT. So far, they've been very successful. Their "family values" strategy is used to attack us.

It fascinates me that republicans do everything in their power to destroy labor unions, then create employer loopholes and legislation that caused the need for unions in the first place. Thank God the Senate will reject this anti-worker piece of garbage.

What is wrong with this group of politicians who are out to destroy the American way of life?

Vote republican = vote to destroy America.
