There's a shoe company called TOMS that donates a pair of shoes to needy children in third world countries for every pair of shoes customers purchase. And one day a year, they sponsor an event called One Day Without Shoes. The event encourages people to go an entire day barefoot (to the extent possible) as a way to experience what it's like to be forced to be barefoot and also to spark conversations and share awareness of the issue.
This year, that day happens to be on Tuesday, April 16th.
Lots of college students participate, but so do business people from all walks of life. The goal is to be barefoot wherever you go that day -- in school, at work, walking through the city, etc. Within reasons: TOMS doesn't recommend doing anything that could cause injury, like walking barefoot in the snow or through a construction site, but does encourage people to be barefoot in public wherever practical.
For a foot fetishist, it can be an exciting day.
My feet are kinda janky, so I don't know if I have to guts to participate. But my dare to all of you is to try to spend the entire day barefoot (not even flip-flops), or at least spend a little time barefoot in a place you normally would wear shoes. And for us fetishists, perhaps you'd be kind enough to post a few pics of yourself doing that?
