I've never worked any of those fancy iphones or droids or galaxies or whatever. Just a simple phone that I use for calling, texting, and music. I don't understand the rave about big phones..my friends always make fun of me for having a small phone. But really, who wants to lug around a big phone in their pocket!? Same goes for laptops. Why do people want bigger laptops. My friends make fun of my acer netbook for being puny compared to their laptops.

I'm quite content with my smartphone. It's not the 'biggest and best' phone out there, but it suits my needs, considering I use it for 90% of everything I do.

I have to replace it, though. I managed to mess something up. The only thing I don't like about it is the fact that when I receive a text, it flashes the screen on. If it's in my pocket, then it manages to unlock itself and start doing random shit. Somewhere along the randomness, it kerfucked something up. Thank God I took out the insurance plan.

Like Kien I want a simple phone to make calls and text. About the only option in my area for a carrier is Verizon and it is almost impossible to get a plan that does not include a data package. $30 a month for something I never use.

I think smart phones are like drugs. Start off on one of those nearly free things as a gateway phone. Just good enough to get you hooked but crappy enough to frustrate. And then you end up shifting it up a notch. End up craving the biggest, latest, fastest one that alleviates anything that bugs you about your current phone. Get fussy about things like camera quality, screen resolution, weight, battery.
I think I have a real problem here. Need a Galaxy S4 kinda bad. And now.

Awesome! My younger brother just got his Sony Xperia Z 3 days ago. Kinda envious but I have been putting my parents offer to buy me a new smartphone for the 300th time. Still using my 6 years old Nokia N 70. Don't know...... I feel guilty blasting money on phone especially if it's still functioning. Sometimes I feel left out when all my friends are using their tablet and mac/samsung galaxy but hey.....I don't really use the phone much so.....

all depends on what you're getting a laptop for, though.

a netbook or a tablet is fine if all you're doing is checking email/facebook and watching Netflix by yourself.

but if I needed a portable machine for work or for playing video games on the road, I don't think I could go any smaller than a 15" screen.

as for laptop vs. netbook- this macbook always make my bagpack heavy. Regular laptop is always clunkier and heavier than netbook- so I need a device that still hv old fashioned value while being light and efficient. Who else? ^^

It depends on your task, I rarely use pdf ever and of course I won't open a shitload of multimedia in my netbook

and I like to sit on my phone too. ^^ I treated my phone quite a bitch..all my old phone have random crack on its screen (if they're not lost/gone), that's why I dread to go fancy even with older model of smart phone.

Yes, but by inference nothing needs to evolve, ever. Why should your tv be colour instead of black and white, and does it need to be more than 32"? Why should a portable media player plug into it when it can go into your computer? On that score, why bother with portable media when there is a dvd rental store down the road? And then, why bother with dvd rental when the movie will come on tv anyway? Etc.

Sure, you can have a kindle, and an ipod, and a phone, and a watch, and a laptop, and carry them all around in the world's heaviest backpack with 17 different power packs and charging cables. Or you can have one or two things which do almost everything between them.

This is why smartphones have become so popular. It's a music player. It's a camera. It's a camcorder. It's a web browser. It's a porn player. I've got the entire internet, every youtube video, every porn video, every song ever made all in my pocket! You can even make the occasional phone call! And it's so thin I forget it's in my pocket.

It's only been very recently that a phone could do all these things and do them all well. My old "feature" phone claimed to do all that too, but it really sucked at all of it. It literally replaces a box full of other expensive devices that all need to be charged.

I do not like video games, but I have quite a few radio apps, and news apps. I even have a few that I never use,...like a tape measure, and a metal detector, lol. But I don't want to get rid of them because you never know when you might need them...

I have an acer netbook as well...its great as far as portability goes , but the small screen just isn't that great for some things...thats why you need more than one computer.
