Is anyone outside of North Korea actually afraid of North Korea?
Is anyone outside of North Korea actually afraid of North Korea?
An article came out a few weeks ago that a North Korea vs America conflict would end in less than 24 hours for one reason:
Our Air Force.
I wouldn't underestimate them because the policy of North Korea is "millitary first". This means that while it's citizens were starving to death, they were putting every available penny into building their weapons. Even if they can't build weapons that could reach the US, they can certainly destroy the countries that are close to them and kill millions..
No. I am not concerned about NK attacking America. South Korea, yes, simply because there's tens of millions of people that could die in an instant.
I'm not scared of some punk with a bowl haircut. Dennis Rodman is going to fix it all, don't worry.....
FPNYAnnoying JUBBERS since 2003
Im not afraid of NK striking the US. My bf is Japanese and he's concerned they may either hit Japan or the fallout from an attempted strike could affect Japan. His entire family lives there.
I honestly don't think they're going to do anything significant. It's all grandstanding. Having said that, the NK leader is a total nut job and one can't predict what a nut job is really going to do. His father filled his head with crazy ideas and he may be stupid enough to think he can get away with it.
I am NOT here for the good sisters of Japan dealing with anymore radiation
thought that the cold war was over. i guess not.

I don't think that North Korea could hurt the U.S. much, but it could sure do a lot of damage to our allies and friends, especially if they do produce a nuclear bomb. At this point I think that he is blowing steam, but I am trying to keep up with the news and keep alert.

Am I scared of North Korea? No.
What I am scared of are a group of politicians handing over the country to the richest 1% and to corporations. I'm scared of deregulation and removal of environmental protections. I'm scared of politicians taking away human rights and creating laws to block freedoms.
Scared of South Koreans and Japanese, yes. For us? Nope.
"Rarely do we find men who willingly engage in hard solid thinking. There is an almost universal quest for easy answers and half-baked solutions. Nothing pains some people more than having to think.'' - Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
I'm honestly a bit worried, as a lot of people would be. There's so much to be worried about in this day and age though. When it's not one thing, it's another...
Eternal youth and endless life. I'll sacrifice everything and everyone to obtain it
A scared population like North Korea will not obey authority if they and free and not harm by anyone.
NEVER LISTEN TO A ONE SIDED STORY AND JUDGE.
Scared? Please. Little Kimmy Uno is doing the same pointless saber-rattling amd empty threats that his batshit crazy father did.
He's like those gross Porky Pig looking guys in straight porn that wave around a tiny dick and brag about "tearing that pussy in half".
There are at least 15 American military bases in S. Korea, they would be the targets, no U.S. soil. If you're not scared, you should at least be concerned. Sometimes crazy people carry out crazy threats.
I think people should be worried and you Americans shouldn't be too confident of finishing a potential war in a few days.
I think people are assuming that NK have a nuke but no-one knows either way.
I'm worried that if things escalate it may turn into Wworld War 3.
I don't know I think b4 it gets to the point of attacking the U.S. China Will Step in and stop them!

North Korea's Kim Dynasty.... Kim il Sung, his son Kim Jong Il and now grandson Kim jong Un.....is one of the most brutal in history. Their people are brainwashed or just plain terrified to say or do anything. You can be sent to a prison camp for the rest of your life for having the wrong thoughts. Not only you, but your family, cousins, grandparents...... everyone. Torture and starvation wait for you.
Hopefully one day the Dynasty will be toppled and their Generals gone. Maybe nuking their country would be a blessing in disguise for them.
In his autumn, before the winter, comes man's last mad surge of youth
^You should be.
No idiot should be waving nukes around. Unlike smaller, plain-ol'-bomb bombs, nuclear fallout will have significantly longer-lasting and more widespread effects than just a town or two.
Why does North Korea have such shitty commie haircuts and fashion? Even Cubans and Vietnamese dress better under commie dictatorships.

^^ Especially considering South Korea is the mecca for innovation and technology.
^actually south korea is a VERY fashionable county
No one knows if he is serious with these threats or if he is trying to gain respect and power from his own military and from the world as a strong leader. If it's a bluff it might work in North Korea; they're so isolated. But to the world he just looks like a spoiled brat having a temper tantrum. I think President Obama is correct at this point to tone down the rhetoric. If he gains that respect in his own country it may make him easier to deal with later and it doesn't hurt us one bit to let him let him build up that false pride and seal power in North Korea. They don't know what is going on anyway and hopefully we're big enough to let him have that delusion. In the long run that would probably be better for stability and peace in the region. However if it's not a power play and he does really start launching missiles that kill people and cause damage in other countries then that's a different situation entirely. If that happens then I don't think we have any choice but to beat the crap out of the arrogant little prick.
The thing is, North Korea is so isolated that they literally have no interest anywhere in the world, contrary to other nuclear power like U.S., Russia, or China... So, for them, in their twisted logic, they have nothing to loose and everything to gain from an armed conflict. The low people have been fed rhetoric for so long that they don't know how to think critically about their leaders, so I don't think an internal dissent will ever change the views of their leaders.
So, I can say I am scared, but I do have some fear about the next few weeks... It might descend into a very dirty war like the ones in Cambodia, Laos and Viet-Nam...
The same logic was used by Bush II for Iraq even though the entire military infrastructure had been wiped out as it fled Kuwait on the Highway to Hell a decade earlier by his Father. Iraq had no military machine in 2003, only a few busted cold war Soviet tanks with no parts. Yet it was easy to convince the American public that Iraq had this vast huge military complex, however the only guy you ever saw in a uniform was the ministry of propaganda. There weren't even any satellite views on the large columns of well trained military in Iraq just some guys from ABC riding around the desert in tanks chasing 1985 Toyota rusted pickups.
The only WMD in Iraq were the kind you make with a bag of fertilizer, a 9 v battery and a old alarm clock.
Off topic here, but what's the deal with all these browser slowing /crashing animated gifs? Is it possible to have a thread without them?
