Le 'something'. It has no sense in French actually. I wonder where that comes from in the USA ?
I can understand 1, 2 and 4, but 3 ?
I'm sure people are gonna make fun of me (and I wouldn't blame them haha)... but I so gotta try the mouse trap thing and the coat hanger thing!!!! Where did you get this picture from? are there more?
The air horn thing would be a really good prank, and April Fool's Day is coming up... hmmm...

Ashy : I don't get the 'amplifying' thing. How can you amplify waves without a source of energy ? Changing the tone, I get it, amplifying I don't.
Number 3, as Ashy said, is to make your cellphone ring more audible (though I also thought it makes the phone vibration more audible).
Number 4 - the weirdest of all - is a notifier when someone enters the room - plus warning not to use cellophane tapes to dress up as a mummy.
I definitely don't get the fourth
come now, my child. if we were planning to harm you, do you think
we'd be lurking here beside the path in the darkest part of the forest?
C'est quoi ce bordel? C'te bordel? Bordel?
Closest I can think of ...
Don't know what to do with n°3 either... doesn't sound need air to propagate?
Do you need to delay answer machine some more to provide time to open the jar and catch the phone?

The jar isn't sealed.
Le fuck, c'est chuque...
Two journalists killed during live broadcasts by madman smothering them with pillows. Because remember, guns don't kill people....
My understanding of French is neither idiomatic or subtle enough to understand the distinction. "Pepe le moko"? "Le kepi"? I'm lost.
In any case, I understand that Renault sold a car in the US into the 1980's (?) called "Le Car". I don't think it was much of a success, so perhaps it became the source of jokes. I believe it was the last attempt by Renault to break into the American market.
