I use my phone to send a few texts through out the day, a phone call or two, take a pic now and again, look up a thing or two, check out a couple news sites, guyswithiphones, listen to music (not continuously though) but that's about it. When waiting in lines i rarely take it out of my pkt; NEVER AT THE MOVIES, sometimes while waiting for my food order (unless i have chips and salsa to feed me) and sometimes while i'm driving if i'm looking up something or texting a friend a quick note.
But tonite while waiting in line at Michaels, i noticed this kid (late teen, early 20's) just staring at his phone the whole time scrolling away, checked out--eyes on phone, thumb on screen; walked out the store--eyes on phone, thumb on screen; crossed the street--eyes on phone; it was if he were being led by it because he was holding it out the whole time (like a star trek tricorder). I was surprised though that he took his eyes off the phone to look both ways before crossing, i half expected him to just dart out into the street way. Since he was buying art supplies i know he has other interests (thank god!) that may occupy his time.
What do people need to look at on their phone so much ? I feel like i'm "missing something" about what's going on but not really "missing it" , just curious what's so interesting on the phone??
