Is there one single thing that, when you see it in a food dish such as a salad, that you always pick out and leave on the side of the plate?
In my case, it's celery. No matter what it's in, if I see it in a dish I'll dig them out.
What about you?

Those strings of purple cabbage they always put in salad, and Cauliflower.
Slimy mushrooms...I am cool with fresh mushrooms in salads or baked on pizza but once they are slimy in any dish they must go. Same with slimy onions. It's a texture thing for me.
Veges mostly. I do try to eat them. I do that too even if I eat at vegetarian stores lol. Make my friends go haywire on me lol.
Water chestnuts.

Nothing. I'll eat anything that's not nailed down.
Olives.

Thank you.

Beetroot..
Cilantro. That stuff reeks something awful.
In salad, I always pick out the tomatoes if there are any. With cheeseburgers, I always pick out the pickles and tomatoes... I like pickles, but not on cheeseburgers.
Bugs. Can't be eating those now can we?
^I've actually wanted to try fried cockroaches or fried grasshoppers before, but that's an idea for a different thread.
@Star-Warrior: the biggest trouble with cilantro is that it flavors the whole dish. It seems like just picking it out of a dish isn't good enough.
For me, broccoli is the same way. I can tell if a dish has been cooked in it, even if I can't see the broccoli.
cherry tomatoes in a salad.
diced or sliced tomatoes are great, but I hate having to bite into a cherry tomato.
"killing a man should take long enough for one's conscience to get in the way."
Red onions.
Hot peppers.
Whole garlic cloves.
Fatty bits.
I'm not a picky eater in the slightest. I'll eat whatever's put in front of me.
I should also mention "pearl onions".
While I usually love onions in my food, for some reason I have to dig pearl onions out of it, on the rare occasions that I see it nowadays.
Leaf stems are a pet peeve of mine in salads. I don't like thick, woody, stems in my salad and I alway take time to pick them out.
cheese - if it's in, I won't eat it. not a fan of dairy products in general, although I do use butter and drink milkshakes
But basically anything that smells rancid to me is unedible for me, sorry.
Baby corn and tofu... taste and texture... ick.
I don't eat no succotash....

Both already mentioned:
Olives
Cilantro.

Tomatos, onions, mushrooms and peppers.

Why do you guys order/cook things you don't like though...
Onions. If it is in the food. Usually I ask for no onions in anything I order... but if I forget I will remove them.
Not one thing, or even just a few. There's a lot I won't eat and will pick out.
If I can see it and it's something I refuse to eat, then I will pick it out, and will do a search for anymore.
I am am getting better. I used to pick tomatoes out of everything, but lately I leave them in. I love how a tomato smells, and things cooked with and in them and tomato products, but never have been able to enjoy a tomato itself. But I am determined to like tomatoes.![]()
I may be bad, but I'm perfectly good at it.

Mushrooms and anything I'm allergic to

Fatty parts of meat. If it's a little bit, then it's fine. But the texture and taste of bigger fatty portions gross me out.
Jalapenos and their ilk in something like a pho soup. Out they go. I like the essence and flavoring they add but I can't be biting into them. I'm weak-sauce when it comes to spicy stuff.
I'm weird....I like supreme pizza but I take off the mushrooms, olives, and peppers. I like the flavor they add to the pizza but the texture of mushrooms and olives disgust me.
I understand your point of view very well, Nishin, and I agree with it to a very large extent.
I mentioned pearl onions because I absolutely love the taste it imparts, in dishes such as a Chicken Fricassee. But the onion itself is..maybe..too much of a good thing? Plus, it has a weird texture; I feel like I'm eating an eyeball, or something.
As for the celery?
Fortunately, I very seldom have to pick it out. Once in a while, however, when you get invited to someone's house, they'll put celery in a salad.
I have to dig it out.
lettuce, tomato in hamburgers. the carrots and peas in the rice from burnets bbq and nunzios. the nasty celery and some nasty slimy thing that my father puts in his rice and peas whenever he cooks it. it's nasty as hell. these nasty egg yolk that's in the chinese fried rice.
so tempted to get some junk food right now. it's been awhile.![]()
one thing about the closet/you don't have to hurry/it will be bad tomorrow/so brother, don't you worry![]()
White onions.
I couldn't get my mind off you all day.

the stomach out of Menudo.
Pickles. I don't like pickles. Sometimes, when I eat a burger, I forget to dig out the pickle and I try to swallow it as best I can - spitting it out feels rather uncouth, even though I am in a burger joint and not a 5 star restaurant.
Tomatoes! >.< I hate tomatoes!
I wanna know what it'd be like, to find perfection in my pride, to see nothing in the light.

^I think I can relate to the tomato problem. I used to avoid raw tomatoes, only eating the cooked ones. I just can't stand the smell of raw tomatoes, which changes after cooked. Now I tolerate them a bit more under heavy dressings/condiments.
And offal are popular in my country! There are soups and satay recipes using offal - especially Padang food. Not healthy of course

For the OP anyway: Large and/or visible bits of fried eggs (out of fried noodles or fried rice) - not a big fan of eggs fried. And lards out of meat chunks.

Any life amounts to no more than one drop in the limitless ocean. Yet what is any ocean but a multitude of drops?
Nothing. If there is something I don't like, then I will order my food without it.
I can eat just about anything except IO. I can't do internal organs, kidney, liver, intestine. I have travelled some and the locals always try to push that shit on me. I will eat the meat of an animal. I have tried horse, goat and dog to name a few, but you can keep the sheep eyes and brain.
Olives. I try to avoid them, but the little bastards always end up in a salad or something of mine the few times I let my guard down. And they're always diced, so it makes eating anything with them difficult.
