For those of you that have written a story and posted here or elsewhere what made you publicly post your story?
I am going back and forth on whether I want to post my story or not. What gave you the push.

I couldn't get my mind off you all day.

I figured, "why not!"
It's fiction and my name's not attached to it, nothing to worry about. If people don't like it, then I'd have stopped writing!
Author of Lost in a Dream. If you want to make me smile, read it and tell me what you think.
Why not?
Just make sure it's genuine though...........
I posted a story on my blog that got quite a good response. Although one guy said he thought it was about a horny alienI guess I did get a bit carried away with detailing the fear through the characters breathing.
The point of writing is to be read. There's no point writing a masterpiece - or a piece of crap - if others aren't going to read it.
I reasoned "You know, -d-, you could write and keep them to yourself if you want to, sure.
But that's not what you had in mind when you wrote them."

The main reason is to get your stuff out there - by posting your stuff wherever, you'll get reviewed and maybe get some pointers on what to improve or scratch entirely! Also, you'll get praised for writing good stuff. IN all cases it will empower you to write more. Also, sharing it will open you up to other writers who perhaps struggle with the same things as you...again, it's a bonding thing.
Only by putting your stuff out there you'll become a better writer in the end, even if you do not intend on publishing. [which does not mean you need to take EVERY review to heart...some folks are just full of crap etc. Just believe in your strengths and polish up your weaknesses.]
Years ago, I cranked one out and posted it, typos, misspellings and all, during a particularly troubling time for me. It helped pass the time and perhaps helped me through it.
I've tried writing a sequel and even a prequel, but no go.

Thanks for the posts guys.

Honestly, I got bored. This is more of a leisure thing as I do dabble in some professional writing... posting some random story I thought of as I was writing it on JUB is like something I do when I get bored, and I don't edit them. So any grammar mistakes there remain there, although when it comes to actual writing I take my craft quite seriously. Working on a new novel at the moment--hope to actually get it published.
WHY make us wait until MAY???
Oh -- and this thread just reminded me that I haven't updated either of my stories in a VERY LONG time...
The thing that I REALLY like about JUB's story forum -- is that, UNLIKE a personal friend of mine who used to be an editor, you get REALLY USEFUL feedback in a NICE way!!!

I write stories because it's an erotic experience for me. Sharing them makes it better!
I write erotica about Zac Efron. I'm up for dirty talk on Skype: sirjfrankie. Or, message me on Kik: sirjfrankie.
That is one of the things holding back. If I post what I post it will be something I wrote years ago. I seem to have writer’s block that has lasted since 2008. I would like feedback, but in my case there doesn’t seem to be much point in it. I have not wrote (well) in years.
I couldn't get my mind off you all day.

Been planning on posting stories for months, just haven't got round to it yet.
Just smut mainly, may just do a blog.

I posted a story here once (see my blog/or the stories section)...then I found it on other websites. Guess when I wrote it I wasn't thinking of putting it on every other website out there, as I only intended it for this one.
Posted the intro and that was it.
