MSNBC Shake-up: BIG Ed is out of Primetime & Sexy Chris is in.

I Love BIG Ed. He’s the only outspoken VOICE in Radio/Cable News for the working man. I didn’t believe him when he told us Wednesday night that he raised his hand & volunteered to do the SWAP & move to weekends 5pm-7pm. That just didn’t make any sense especially when you have a bigger audience watching after 5pm weeknights.

All the same I’m so GLAD he hasn’t been let go because Cable News needs a dedicated Big mouth that’s not afraid to speak up for the working class and speak against the 2^nd coming of Obama’s Grand Deal plan for the Big 3.

Now as for the Sexiest Nerd in all of Cable News. 34yr old Chris is beyond intelligent, down-to-earth, knows his Politics, Sexy, very likable and can Moderate a HEATED panel debate better than ANYONE I’ve seen in Cable news..

My only CONCERN about Chris is will his 1hr become a boring hour some nights out of the week. Sometimes Chris’s weekend show would get BORING around the second hour. It’s not easy doing a 2hr show…

It might be a challenge for the Producers to make sure they keep a 34yr old Chris in tune with the Young followers that watch. Yes Bill O’Ratly over at FOX is a Geezer but he Entertains and gives us Yelling, Screaming, Minority bashing & Lies…

I dunno... he may have been pushed and left to save grace. However, I have watched him for a while and it would seem he is losing the enthusiasm for the fight. A weekend variety type show would be a better fit for an older guy.

I hope the new slot is used to promote a different tune. If you bother watching Ed, Rachel and then Lawrence, you get the same message delivered by different folks with different subtle points. I hope the new show can drift into an unexplored area instead of the same drivel.

I still like Rachel's first fifteen where she brings historical context to a modern story. It is refreshing to see such a well researched position even if I know the bent it will always take. I also like the first five minutes of Lawrence where he uses the words of the day to emphasize the news he will spin. I often watch Rachel's fifteen, Lawrence's five and fast forward through ED unless I see a personality I wanna hear from about whatever topic du jour. I don't have enough life to listen to all the hype... just the fine points. I used to do the same with Fox and CNN but Fox had to go because they simply are completely against reporting the truth. I get enough half truths and falsehoods to know the rights angle from hearing Rush throughout the day.

Anyways, I hope it works out for MSNBC and Chris Hayes but I wish they had promoted Melissa Harris-Perry. She has the smartest couple hours of journalism every week... period.

Melissa is AWESOME @ handling ANY panel you put in front of her...The ONLY way she'd work in Primetime is if they MIRROR her 1hr show after Alex Wagner's show...

Melissa is Smart but after a while she'd bore the Viewer..She's a Teacher and you can tell dealing with a group of people is her show's GREATEST strength...That's why I'm a little worried about Chris...Can he do BETTER than Ed as a Solo Commentator? We'll see..

I Love Rev. AL and I know he's in bed with Obama who is in bed with MSNBC which means Al's PrimeTime spot is SAFE until 2016...Rev IS the luckiest Commentator in Cable....He really should've been taken off PrimeTime along with Ed and made a Contriubtor and replaced with Michael Steele or anybody. He's been reading the Monitor long enough to let the sentences flow naturally..He's still reading every line like he Preaches..

I want a Republican Commentator at some point. Joe is not enough of a 1% balance. Michael fits that Bill..

I don't know, but what did happen last year was The New York Times head honcho reported that Ed was gonna lose his Job @ MSNBC in 2013. Ed went into a rant on LIVE radio and basically gave the Times-Honcho the Middle-Finger...

Well the Honcho wasnt too far from the truth...How he knew and Ed didnt is either a Mystery or Ed tried to hide the truth with Smoke & Mirrors...

I agree that Michael Steele would make an excellent show. He is politically savvy and has a unique point of view. He also doesn't sound bitter and shitty like Dick Morris when he was thrown from the Democratic party. I still cant believe they fired Michael Steele as Chairman of the party and put in Rence or Rance or whatever that dudes name is..... that guy not only is over seeing the contraction of the party, he is obviously uncomfortable speaking in front of groups.....for the chair of a major political party... wtf... that is all they do... raise money and speak. Just a bizarre choice.

Chris Hayes has filled in at night a couple times. He will do fine.

Like Ed's populist passion---can't believe he was forced out--he has a full time radio job maybe it's all too much with a sick wife---Chris Hayes is okay but he talks in one long run on sentence which can be boring----and can think of other people I'd like to watch more at that hour---Rev Al is horrible and needs to get cancelled---his show is unwatchable---his speaking style is not for TV---agree Michael Steele, or any NORMAL Republican would be an okay replacement, but for now I switch to CNN.

Agree Jay I want to puke too---still watch lot's of MSNBC especially in the morning and still watch Hardball---but giving CNN a chance as they are shaking up things and MSNBC is too much of the same story and looking for some diversity in the news since the election. I really enjoy Chris Hayes. His morning show has been refreshingly different from all the other talking head shows. I will miss it. I'm afraid his new primetime show will be like all the rest and just get lost in the fray. Rachel and Chris back to back, it will be like a sister and brother tag team.

I will have to start tuning into cute Chris to see what his show is like. It will be hard but his weekend show could be fun if they didn't dwell on topics for too long and he had fun guest. I do hope he keeps the round table at least for half of the show. He will lose some of his older viewers, they may still think he is a baby and doesn't know anything, but I think MSNBC is making a grab for younger viewers. He won't beat out Bill but i'm sure they know that, bill audience is his age and has his mentality and more likely to be home every night to see him. I still have relatives who still watch the local news at 6 & 11 and its usually the same thing, lol. Either way, good luck Chris!

I was stunned by this news earlier in the week. And I am even more shocked that they seem to be simply giving Chris the 8 PM slot and having him go up against O'Reilly. Maybe they are too scared to move Rachel Maddow's slot.

I don't think Ed volunteered for this assignment. Allegedly he has clashed with management a few times ... I know he was suspended for calling Laura Ingraham a slut, as he should have been. There is no need to resort to those depths.

It's good to have a "loud" advocate for the left to counter O'Reilly.

Maybe this is simply strategy on MSNBC's part to:

1) Deal with a problem (a la Olbermann)
2) Attract a younger audience, given Chris Hayes' age and being more in-tune with young interests.
