Ok, I know I'm way late to the game, but I finally found the time to watch the first episode yesterday. Welcome back in my life, Drag Race! I missed you!
The queens were clearly very nervous, and most of them came across as a little too high energy, and grating. I'm sure this will adjust itself as the season goes on.
Vivacious is the one I want to root for, although I'm not fully convinced just yet. She has a warm personality that reminds me of Latrice and Chad. Her style was only ok, though, rather than amazing. And she kept going on about her walk, which was energetic, but didn't seem very feminine or elegant to me.
Adore seems pretty cool. But her style is lacklustre. She knows it, too, and makes sure to bring it on the personality and charisma front to make up for it, but I wonder if that can last an entire season.
Gia is the most beautiful of the bunch, and she's throwing shade left and right. It's a bit much, to be honest. She has the fishyness and polish to back up her smack talk, but she still comes across as a little low class.
Ben and Laganja mostly just got on my nerves, but I'm curious to see how they are once they calmed down a little.
April didn't leave much of an impression on me, to be honest, and her runway look was overpraised.
Kelly: Zzzzzzzzz, bye!

Ok, watched the 2nd episode. Fuckin' brilliant! I don't know anything about the Kardashians, but Kloe was a fantastic guest judge. "My pussy is puffy!" With a straight face!!!
Milk: Instantly my favourite. I love the weird ones, and Milk is giving me everything I was missing from Vivacious last episode. Reminds me of Sharon Needles; she's also quite cute out of drag, and seems intelligent.
Trinity: Not quite as fishy as Gia, but more likable. And her creativity on the runway surprised me. I expected something much more conventional when she instantly went for the princess box. Cute out of drag.
Courtney: I don't particularly respond to her aesthetic, but that's purely subjective. Girl clearly has her shit together, and will most likely be around for a while. Unbelieavably fishy.
Bianca: She is polished for sure, and she deserved the win. But I can't say I like her, at all. She reminds me of Mimi Imfurst: "Trying to hard"-comedy on the surface, hot mess underneath. To be fair, Bianca is way more talented than Mimi.
Darienne: I like her attitude, and girl owned that lipsynch. Not that she had much competition, but still, that skill alone will probably keep her in the game for a while. She needs to step it up on the style front, tho.
Joslyin: She seems dumb and tacky, and her laugh is the stuff of nightmares. But I think she'll be good for some unintentional comedy. Hope she doesn't stay too long, tho.
Magnolia: Cute out of drag, but man, what a disaster. Deserves to go.
loved your thoughts on the queens, hylas. Most of them are spot on!
Yeah...I definitely think the right girls have been eliminated so far. Ru is trimming the fat early.
I like to watch...
I dont know yet.....
GIA: I loved her entrance look with the "chanel" hoop bag and how full of her self she is.. love it.. Im excited to see if she can actually bring something to the table....
BEN: Annoying.. right from the entrance.. needs to go...
KELLY: I really like her "personality" but her looks.. girl.. still think she sould have stayed
VIVACIOUS: Also big warobe problems..I was so surprised cause from the promo shoots i think she looked fierce but the looks she has presented so far are so tacky and baaaad...
MILK: I dont know..I mean if you put on a beard make it a full on bear beard.. It looked like some kind on goattale stuck on the chin.. with a Farah Fawcett wig underneath the veil and a full beard it would have been perfection for me.
I think Vivacious has a GREAT personality but she's only who she says she is in her head.
The "last club kid in NY?" I don't think so.
And her looks are far from polished or elegant. That walk was crazy and Gia "out vogued" her easily.
She's not going to last long.
^Gia only "out-vogued" her because Vivacious wasn't trying to take center stage and vogue. Soon as Gia heard someone say vogue. she just had to jump out of her seat...
Her walk IS crazy - it's 80's New York "bring it to the ball" pageant crazy though, not "trip over your dress" crazy like two contestants so far(which is crazy, both premieres featured two queens tripping over their garments... of course, both premieres have two Idols - American and Australian, respectfully).

Take us lightly and we'll make you pay..."

Ok, after watching untucked, I'm already warming up a little to some of the 2nd episode queens that I initially didn't like. Bianca probably isn't quite as big a mess as I first thought (then again, it's pretty easy to look good when sparring with sourpuss Magnolia). I really liked what Courtney said about the gay/straight binary. Even Joslyn seemed sweet. And I caught myself underestimating Trinity once again; she visually reminds me of Tyra and Mariah, but she seems more creative and intelligent than either of them. She may be the real deal.
Trinity: was like seeing Alexis Mateo... I was quite surprised to see her in such a standart pegant outfit compared to her space suit she made last episode
Bianca: annoying.. everything that comes out of her mouth is an insult..I dont mind a bitchy queen but she has nothing to back it up with.. her make up is same, her hair is same...
Vivacious: her performance was week in the movie but I think she killed it with her lipsync on stage.. It was pure 90s rave realness
Courtney: didten enjoy runway look either..
Milk: Yes we get it you are an artsy dragqueen move on....if you want to a big nose.. either you color it in some crazy color or you get a a proper one so it looks real... that plastic cheap looking one was bad.. I like her ideas but she needs to execute them better...
April,Ben & Laganja: I liked their runway look.. Ben wasent has annoying this time
Adore: I like her free sprirted attitude...but the rest giiiirl....
Poor Vivacious. But she just couldn't get her charisma across on television. Her acting sucked - no excuse for that - and her runway look was crazy without being particularly beautiful or interesting. Can't fault Ru's decision here.
Milk: a weak episode for her. I like her overall style, but the runway look was not good. She was lucky she was on the winning team, because I'm pretty sure the judges would have torn it to shreds. Show some versatility, gurl.
Adore: Talent, check. Charisma, check. But boy, does she lack polish. It would be wonderful to see her grow in front of our eyes, but I wonder if that's even possible in such a compressed enviroment.
Trinity was sour for being picked second-to-last. Girl, you better power through, because there is no space for that shit. Still not quite sure what to think of her. There's something there, but she also seems kinda bland and ill defined.
April gets the butch role again, probably because she showed up in a girl-scout uniform on the first episode. She too seems ill defined. She seems sweet, but I wouldn't miss her if she went. The umbrella was fierce, tho.
Ben, Bianca, Courtney: None of them have aesthetics that appeal to me personally, and particularly Ben and Bianca are a little much to take at times. But they clearly have their shit together and are likely to last long. Professionalism is the word, bitches.
Laganja: not much to report here, except she's actually kinda cute out of drag.
Darienne wins, which seems a little random; even she seemed surprised. Good week for her, but I wonder if she's got it to last all the way.
Joslyne may actually not be quite as useless as I initially thought. Stealth contender. Her *gasp* was hilarious.
Gia, on the other hand... we all already love to hate her, right? And her runway look was bad Nicki Minaj. I will say that she is really strikingly beautiful, tho.
Wow...this was a fun episode!
For starters...the main challenge was hilarious. Vivacious (as much as I love her) was a HOT MESS. Did you guys see her reaction when it came time for her lines during the final showing? That look she gave the camera. Yeah...she earned that elimination. I can't quite put my finger on it...but I figured her style/look was going to do her in eventually. STILL loved her runway walk though.
You know it's bad when you're upstaged by Adore. I agree with hylas that girl is really lacking in the polish (read: style) department. She always looks so busted. like someone's little sister doing play-hooker-drag. Anyway...really cute out of drag though.
And may I just mention again how many of the guys are so adorable out of drag? Hello, Milk and Laganja!
I enjoyed several of the runway looks this week. I was most surprised by Trinity. She was flawless, and I loved that dress.
Darienne's look was safe but boring. I think this is going to be a running trend with her.
Ben did an awesome job during the film. I found her most believable in the role.
Both of the films were hilarious from start to finish. So goofy and camp.
just a question...who was the person at the end who electrocutes the girls? the fuck is that?
I like to watch...
^ yeah, completely forgot about the electrocution part... that was totally random, right?
Loved the exchange at the beginning with Bianca and Gia Gunn, but I see that Ms. Bianca isn't without her shit-stirring qualities when she went for Trinityonce. We'll have to see where that slick talk takes her - it sure as fuck ain't taking Gia Gunn too far.
I'm actually a little annoyed that Vivacious was eliminated - I thought she killed the lip-sync, or, at the least, got the most of my attention. Total package on that challenge though, she was not - better to be seen as flat in the challenge (April) than to totally fuck up the challenge I guess.
Most of that team was a MESS though, and, just my opinion, but Adore should have been the one lip-syncing for her life on that along with Vivacious, who, yes, definitely deserved her bottom spot.

"Miscalculation of our strength their bane,
Take us lightly and we'll make you pay..."
I'm so glad this thread is alive again. I missed your commentary hylas, so welcome back!
It seemed like they uploaded the episode around midnight because I was able to watch it last night.
I wasn't surprised to see Vivacious go, but that's already a one two punch for the older queens. Speaking of older queens, I'll be interested to see how long Darienne lasts. I liked her makeup and the outfit was a definite upgrade compared to last year, but she seems a little bland to me. I hope she can come out of her shell.
I'm loving Bianca, Ben, and Milk right now. Bianca is still funny, although I do think she needs to change her look up. Ben was great this week and I think is a solid competitor. I really loved Milk's look and thought it was out there, but relatively well done.
I like Courtney and Langanja and hope to see them around for weeks to come. Laganja brought it with her look and Courtney's was polished as well.
I thought April killed on that lip sync, but she needs to stay away from the butch roles, if possible.
I like that Trinity thinks outside of the box and I hope she can showcase more of that creativity. It was nice that she was able to do well on this challenge, even though it was her first time acting.
I'm on the fence about Joslyn right now. She can be funny and cute, but there are other queens that I want to see more from.
The last two queens really disappointed me. Gia's runway look was not up to snuff for me. It felt weird and I didn't really read the concept from what she was told us. However, Adore was a real letdown this episode. Her look was not polished and she doesn't seem to be putting in enough effort. Her personality is fun, but I really think she should have been in the bottom two. I think Ru likes her, but I hope she doesn't become a Shangela, where I am wondering why she is being kept over other queens who I feel are more qualified. I'm hoping both of them can get it together because I really like them and I am interested to see what else they can show us.
Just for the LOLZ
that look though.
I like to watch...
Haha, Gentleheart. Priceless.
Couple of thoughts so far:
I feel that Milk is teetering on Drag & Clown. I'd be rooting for her more if she just pulled back those small touches that send it overboard. We've seen that you don't have to be 100% fishy to do drag & being out there/creative is acceptable, but the chin hair in her first episode and the nose in the third just makes her clownish.
Gia borders on annoying/entertaining, but I enjoy her looks. She's giving me Nicki Minaj fish. If she doesn't do her in Snatch Game, I'd be surprised.
Trinity I like despite being young/naive, but I'm already more impressed by her over anything Tyra Sanchez did in Season 2. IDEK why I'm comparing the them...
Oh, Adore is totally this seasons Shangela. Except Shangela I loved to hate, while Adore I'm genuinely rooting for - at least at this point.
I really like Adore in and out of drag.
And Milk had me transfixed with her Pinocchio nose!
I'm not getting the glam I want from Gia. So far both runway outfits have been misses.

"Do you think maybe the movie was in black and white because it was the 60es?"
Gia: "................................................. ........................... ... No."
RuPaul said something VERY interesting during her critique. Something like "Gia, you were having problems at first but then you did very well like you had a system, but we know there was no system." And Ru gave Gia a curious look. There was something the viewers were clearly not in on.
I haaaaaate bianca, becoming the total bitch of the season like her ass dont stink
love milk, i adore adore, love darienne lake. Those are my top 3 so far
im curious abt laganja
I don't think Gia is dumb, she's playing a character just like everyone else. In fact, Gia is most likely in the lead as the queen with the most "airtime" on the show so far. Who has the most .gifs on this forum? Gia (umm, and Vivacious ). Do I think she's going to win the season, heck maybe even make the top 3? No and probably not, but I love her drag character. I can't see why others see her as the bitch of the season. She throws a lot of shade, yes, but so far everyone else on the cast has as well. She's not as bad as the Heathers, Phi Phi, or Roxxxy... and with Bianca reading girls left to right she doesn't even come close to being the bitch of the season. Based on the previews of untucked and what we've seen so far, she's not one of the queens backstage stirring drama. Not trying to get others to like her, but that's just my two cents... I don't think she's / that / bad.
With that said, I'm rooting for Bianca this season. If I had to pick two more for a top 3, I'd pick Milk and Ben de la Creme/Trinity/Adore would be my wildcards for the third spot. I also love Courtney, Gia, and April but so far they're only giving me pretty.
I think Ru meant "Honey, I knew you were playing dumb; you knew your lines." That's what Ru meant when he said Gia didn't have a system to "improve." She already knew what she was doing when it mattered.
Off Topic for a minute. Have you guys seen this?
LOL that's pretty cool. And a bit surreal.
I had to share it on my fb page. That's some talent there.
I like to watch...
I'm sorry but as of now I am NOT here for Adore or Laganja.
Adore, while charismatic, brings it no where else in my opinion. Hopefully I'll like her a bit more after the next challenge... but I secretly wish Courtney will destroy her.
Laganja was doing too much for me ever since day one and that (seemingly) fake concern for Vivacious during Untucked made me dislike her even more.
However, I feel like it will be Gia versus April in the lip sync next time.
Laganja "Come on natch!" Estrangja, her I can't stand. Adore is descent. She did mention she's new to drag and I can see how bad she's willing to learn and grow on the show so I hope she can turn it out. I give her two more episodes to redeem herself and if not then I think she should go. The next challenge is right up Adore's alley... sorry Courtney but you're really not that good.
This video gives me LIFE. Gia, you better WERK hunty!
Clearly tonight's bottom two were chosen because of their respective poor performances. I mean, Jocelyn had a bird's nest on her head and Milk looked like a drag clown. If this is all Milk can serve, his days are numbered.
Loved me some Gia. Her face was flawless and I did like LaGanga's look as well. I also thought Adore out sang Courtney!
Very entertaining episode, the first group did great. Bianca's appeal is slowly fading. I can laugh at some of her 1 on 1's with the camera, but her attitude toward some of the other ladies is annoying.
Loved the lip sync, both did a great job
I wished the segment of the girls coming out the runway after their performance was longer. They all looked fierce and every queen was giving me a different kind of drag... and then there was Milk. I believe Gia meant well when she was clocking Milk for her "pregnant" drag but then she got defensive lol. Anyway, Milk's "schtick" is getting old real quick. If she's gonna do coo-coo camp she needs to perfect it because all I'm getting from her is "straight guy in a dress mocking drag queen" look. I guess one example I can think of is when Raja did the blood dripping bucket hat in a white dress Carrie reference look. She was giving us wacky/horror but her makeup, dress, and hair was still flawless.
Milk darling, take note.

I also liked most of the girls runway looks...
Milk: i liked it but again small details destroy the whole thing (those stripper heels with the flowers and red socks no girl)
Adora: too short the dress and if you dont have a corset use some fucking ducktape to make a waist
Bianca: agian same boring bitchy comments and same old make up (i will never understand that big white line under the eye). I wonder if she is like that off camara..cause i would get rid of her in 2 sec if all she can do is throw shade...actually i think its some kind of defense mechanisme which is proberly why she "not here to make friends"
Joycelyn: what a mess Gia was right with that hair.. and the dress was boring
Courtney: i liked her but i would like to switch it up in future episodes so is not just pretty girl all the time
Trinity: Lipsync was good.. but girl get yourself together
April: she needed to go
