Do you wretch when you brush your teeth?

I've started on a new tube of toothpaste and for some reason, though its minty, I find the flavour causes me to wretch. It's a Colgate Max Fresh with 'cooling crystals' one. Prior to that, I've had no problems with Arm and Hammer's baking soda toothpaste.

Nope ... but I often feel like retching when others don't brush their teeth.

I used to with opaque tooth paste. It turned into a gag-inducing mouth full of foam. You don't need bubbles to scrub your teeth (or anything really) and I don't enjoy the experience of foaming at the mouth.

Anyway a switch to a gel-style toothpaste seems to produce way less foam and the problem is solved.

I always did. Then I discovered NEEM Toothpaste. Love it! BTW, much better for your teeth. Flouride is a poison and softens your enamel.

Only if the toothbrush goes too far back in my mouth. Or brushing the back of my tongue.
I may be bad, but I'm perfectly good at it.

That Hunter can be a real smart ass But seriously,I don't soak my teeth over night.I throw them in the dishwasher.I have been using Pepsodent toothpaste for forever.I love the wintergreen/licorice taste it has,and it is nice and foamy. And the best part is,it only cost about $1.00 for a 6-ounce tube.I believe the flavor originally came from the sassafras plant, but was banned because of posible liver damage from ingestion.Sassafras was also the original flavoring agent and bite in root bear.I don't like the weird silky mouth feel you get from baking soda toothpaste or the ridiculous prices for hyped advertisement of other brands.

I've never done it with any toothpaste. I like my Crest.

Now if anyone's ever been so broke, or remember from their past, using baking soda as toothpaste...yeah, I gagged a few times doing that recently.

I wretch all the time, and fully throw up often enough.
It seems whenever something touches the top, back, I am ready to hurl.
I have even tried non foaming toothpastes and it happens.
When I scrape my tongue I have to be really careful.
No Dentist has ever given me a solution for this.

Lol, thanks for telling me about your gag reflexes guys

I found when I [strike]wretch[strike] retch (thanks for the correction Swell ), its more because I'm keeping the back of my throat closed and stopping the foam going down... Maybe the pressure on the uvular is making me do that...

Johann, the link was interesting. I must start chewing twigs instead

What's weird, is my Gag Reflex for anything outside of Brushing/Scrapping/Dentist is different.
I chalked it up to the foaming and/or having my mouth agape without anything in it.

On a side note: I'll never understand the people that brush their teeth so aggressively that they make their gums bleed. It's one thing to make sure your teeth are properly scrubbed but the act of slashing your gum-line just grosses me out. Be vigilant and assertive, not hurtful and destructive. Those that don't brush their teeth gross me out too.

Same here. When I brush my tongue way in the back. It doesn't bother me though, it's an indication that I've gone far enough back.

I use an electric toothbrush and either baking soda or just listerine when I brush my teeth.

Some people have a more pronounced gag reflex than others.

Do you gag on cock too?

Yes, to make an effort to vomit (not really vomit but trying to get rid of dirty stuff on the back of the throat for potential cock sucking purposes LOL
