Gaymers - Your Favorite Boss Battles.

So what are your all-time favorite, or in your opinion, most epic boss battles of all time?

One word. Koloktos. (Legend Of Zelda Skyward Sword)

I come away sweaty, and sore-armed every time I go up against him. Respect! Love the music, too - it's just screams, "Defend Your Life!"

Will post more later. What are some of your personal favorites?

You beat me to this thread! Haha

In my opinion it would always be FF 8's Omega Weapon.
Immune to every sickness and absorb all elemental damages.

At lv 100 It has 1 million+ hp. Though I have heard you can benefit by fighting it at a really low level (If you have a low party member)

FF 12 had Yiazmat at a whopping 50 mil hp LOL! Most people took an hour or so to beat.

FF always have all these crazy high hp opponents to beat lol.

    FF 12 Tiamat's

    - - - Updated - - -

FF12 Tiamat is toughest. Omega weapon is up there too.

What I love about Final Fantasy - especially in FF Mystic Quest, is that you kinda had to predict what your opponent was going to do. Especially when Pazuzu raised his PsychShield - and mirrored all attacks.

And also, the final boss - The Dark King. Just when you think you have this guy by the throat, he petrifes your ass! DIE, BITCH, FUCKING DIE!!! Frustration Central.

I haven't play Mystic Quest but it really looks challenging. the boss hits 1k? What the??? (Not to mention you only have 2 members at one time? Dang
I played FF 2-12 (excluding 11 as it's X box). And most of their secret bosses are designed to make gamer's life hell lol!
FF 10 is pretty crazy with the "break limit" effect. Meaning the boss and or you can hit as much as 99999 LOL!

Nemesis's Armageddon does 99999 to everyone lol.

Also The Dark Magus Sisters are crazy lol. (Their attacks are really flashy though )

How many 99999 is there? lol Oh it ignores auto-life

Most of mine is from MMOs, but I think that's because you're fighting it with other people/friends.

For single player, I like the bosses that you're not supposed to/don't have to beat, but can. Ones I can recall at this moment are Yuber in Suikoden 3 and Leon from Tales of Destiny.

The Great Mighty Poo in Conker's Bad Fur Day. I also used to love defeating King Goomba on the first map in Super Mario 64!

Yeah I heard some MMO have some crazy games. I didn't play maple but I have saw some of their bosses's hp - ridiculous!! lol
Yuber is quite the nightmare. Even though most compulsory / story line bosses in Suikoden is not very hard, It gets really annoying when they are. One example for me would be Suikoden 2's Prince Luca.

What a pain! Have to spend few weeks grinding and preparing back then just to fight him

And if you want a boss with some true balls, try the Shadow Queen from Paper Mario: Thousand Year Door.

There is one phase of this battle where she is COMPLETELY IMMUNE FROM ALL ATTACKS! You must survive and ride her out until the next phase. (Fair warning - long vids.) The fight in its entireity in 3 parts...

Yup. You can walk in with a full health meter ratio, take one hit from the enemy and already be down for the count and behind the 8-ball just that quickly. The bosses in Mystic Quest don't mess around.

This makes want to play WoW again. This is what makes MMOs so much fun: extremely complicated boss fights that require lots of team work.

I was a holy priest and the only other hard fight in there was Freya+3 [Yogg+1 was surprisingly a light healing affair]. I wanted to post Professor Putricide but there wasn't any good videos on him. That was a blood rush of a fight. I quit right before 4.1 because the game got very stagnant.

I took a break during BC because my college dumped a 6-credit required class on you [on top of the other required Gen-Eds and other classes which made you take 18 credits in one semester if you had no AP credits; so my workload was reduced to 15 credits] that was the hardest required class you would take at the college so I quit after my guild cleared T4 pretty quickly and rejoined after the semester but never got to experience most of BC content as "current".

I agree with Corny. So much FF crap and not enough love for MMOs. There is a reason why JRPGs have been shat on this past generation of gaming because the story telling has been pretty much crap and the game play even worse. Any real fan of JRPGs moved onto MMORPGs and haven't looked back since. Why have NPCs play your party mates when you can have real ones?

My copy of FF Mystic Quest always froze up after every battle in the Falls Basin would freeze up, so I had to immediately save after every batter and reset, annoying but it was the only portion of the game with this problem.

And this was suppose to be a game for RPG beginners too

I actually had tons of fun with it, up until they stopped producing full expansions and started going with mini add-ons. The storyline (missions) of the game was pretty awesome, which was a nice alternative from the usual grinding and gear hoarding that's standard of all MMOs. I think they're finally releasing another expansion, after like 5-6yrs. Too bad it's a little too late for me.

Persona 3 secret boss Elizabeth is really a huge pain. She has a lot of requirements in which type of skills you can use to fight her
and she can heal to full hp when she reaches less 9999 (She has 20k hp)
To defeat her you need to do enough damage around 9600-9900 ish~ then wait till the right turn to counter (since she has 2 turns in one round, if you are unlucky and counter on the first round and her hp is less than 9999, she will full heal on the 2nd turn Happened to me once)

She hits really hard on hard mode W/O proper equipment and the right persona she can ko you in one round (2 turns)

I am lucky enough to counter her on the 2nd round after doing 9728 damage (counter does 444) and finish her off with Armageddon (does 9999) Only managed to record the last finishing off video tough in low quality

The Shadow Queen from Paper Mario The Thousand Year Door. Cut scenes aside,it was actually a fairly tough boss battle for a Mario Game.

I think pretty much any from a Metal Gear Solid game, but my highlights are Metal Gear REX, Psycho Mantis, Sniper Wolf, The End, The Boss, The Shagohod.

The entire game Shadow of the Colossus is basically just a series of amazing boss battles.

    Yunalesca from FFX.

    Nemesis from Resident Evil 3.

The bosses from The Phantom Hourglass were pretty fun but I can't remember specific ones.

At least with me, I love a boss fight that has some sort of urgency involved eg. time limit or a similar mechanism.

This will be a weird one but the boss of Fungi Forest in DK64 is my favorite from the series.

Just a thought >> If they ever came out with a Doctor Who video game, I wonder who I'd like to go up against? The Daleks, The Weeping Angels, The Shadows, The Ood, or The Master? I'd probably say The Master, simply because he's quite literally capable of just about anything.

^That game would be so atrociously bad. I am not saying Doctor Who is bad but whenever a company attempts to capitalize on a TV franchise, especially a "current" one, it ends badly.

What a pain to kill. Even though his health is not as absurdly high as most secret boss are programmed to, Ozma can attack 5 times in a row and his final move does random damage but most likely kills of the party lol.

The only game I'm sort of playing these days is WoW, and of all the new raids they designed, the best boss in my opinion was Grand Empress Sek'zeer in Heart of Fear.

That said, I haven't cleared Throne of Thunder on normal, so I don't know if there are any fights I'll enjoy there =D

They were REALLY easy with the invincibility and unlimited ammo cheats plugged in.

Banjo-Tooie was cheesy throughout - especially the dialogue, but it was the good kind of cheese that made the game endearing, enjoyable, and endlessly replayable.

I would have to say that Sand boss in FFX2. That thing almost killed me many times. I would also have to say the final boss in Sukoden 3. That was a tough one.

In LFRs, I'm so used to knowing when to Time Warp on my mage, than when I'm on my holy priest I get pissed beyond words when it's time to hero/bloodlust/time warp and nobody does it.

GLaDOS in Portal. I've never been mocked so much from a boss before and was so amused about it.
