Sadly, I had a lot of falling out with many of my childhood friends. Many of them got heavily involved in drugs and I was lucky enough to not follow them: some of them due to horrible circumstances; others, due to boredom. Longest friendship atm is about 8 years. My "former" hag now lives in Pittsburgh studying for her doctorate and I occasionally text her but it seems like worlds apart.

Or so I have to assume, I don't exactly remember 'meeting' him, he's just always been there! We're still friends and will talk on occasion (once a month or so), but it's not too much. Around 50 years, I moved to the house where I still live in 1963 and on my first day there I met my friend. He still lives just about a 1/2 mile away(same neighbourhood, different house then where he grew up). We see each other a couple of times a week.
