So tired of reading stories like this, doesn't say how many people will lose their jobs (if any, doesn't say so don't know!!) or what kind of problems the brewery, and burger joint mentioned at the beginning were having.

Restaurants have been going out of business left and right starting with before Obama took office. A huge number of restaurants pretty much run on shoestrings and up or downturns in the economy hit them immediately.

I would guesstimate that about 25% of all our small restaurant clients have closed up shop since the economy collapsed. Possibly higher.

Of course, some small business owners aren't good businesspeople. That goes without saying. But I think people generally assume if you own a restaurant you must make pretty good money. A lot of small restaurants, the owner works 6 or 7 days a week year round, 12 hour days and maybe they're netting 45k a year or something. it can be a lot less than people think. Throw in that the restaurant starts running at a 50k or 75k loss per year and they just can't sustain that and wind up closing up.
