Is the androgenous look popular? Anyone with good pics to share?
Is the androgynous look popular? I have always liked the look but rarely hear it used to describe someone or their likes. A

Re: Is the androgenous look popular? Anyone with good pics to share?
A lot of rockers have done the androgyny thing throughout the years, and it's definitely worked.
For the record, I think these kinds of things can't be forced. Someone who naturally embraces a style that may seem androgynous to others will pull it off more than someone who says "Hey! I wanna be androgynous! What should I wear??"
Warning on the thread, though. Immature people who aren't attracted to androgynous wear and have no way to express that other than complaining up and down the thread and using absolutist terms like "real men" ad-nausea are bound to appear any second now.

I tried the androgynous look myself because I like it on others; it didn't suit me at all. My facial features are too masculine.

Yeah, pulling off a more androgynous look is easier for men who are already pretty and have soft/delicate features.
As for whether or not it's popular, it seems to be more of a hit among straight women and girls-- especially the younger ones. Personally, I think a lot of Korean and Japanese male celebrities pull this look off very well.

I agree. There's quite a lot of Korean shows/episodes where the male singers/ dancers dress up as females and then performed on stage lol. It's pretty funny. They look all cutesy and then the second they open the mouth lol!

I never cared for androgyny. It kinda freaks me out if I can't immediately decipher gender.
... and when I was a lot younger, I guess I was kind of androgynous. I can still remember getting pissed off when people would ask me if I was a boy or a girl.

I agree. You have to be born with it and be young. Its not really a look you can just decide to have. Willie Nelson will never pull it off

My friend loves K-Pop and showed me this video; and the guys are really androgenous but apparrantly really famous in S. Korea. So in some parts of the world yes, it is very popular!

^I feel like an ephebophile watching that.
I cannot pull off androgyny because physically I am far too masculine except for my sloped shoulders.

I think that sort of natural androgyny is rare. And usually if you pay close enough attention, you can still figure out what sex they are.

Mostly, tho, it's just men or women who can look good by somewhat resembling the opposite sex via makeup/clothing/hair. They tend to have a bit of androgyny to their looks to begin with and they can either play it up or play it down.

There is something ominous about this comment.
Like, if we were to tell you to post it, we'd regret it somehow. Not sure if want. But am curious so go forth, Razor. Post away if you'd like.

I would think that the androgynous look would be very attractive to bi guys and that body hair would be a turnoff. Yet that doesn't seem to be the case from what I've seen.

I used to be pretty androgynous when I was young. I hated it on myself, but I don't mind it on others. It's actually really cute on some.
But you gotta live with what you get. I did grow out of it, eventually.

Give a man a fish, he'll eat for a day.
Give a man religion, and he'll starve praying for a fish.

Hmm well now that you mentioned, I remembered when I was 13 a tutor (female) confessed to me that she often wonders and thinks I would be a pretty girl lol. I wasn't sure if that was a compliment. lol Is it really that hard for people in RL to compliment my looks dang people lol.
