Do you believe in Sasquatch/Bigfoot?

The Discovery Channel has a programme called Finding Bigfoot which features 3 'expert' hunters and one skeptic. Each week, they generally select one area and hold a town hall meeting where people discuss their encounters. The crew usually selects a few of the stories and investigate them more fully. The hunters, of course, are often convinced that the encounter couldn't possibly be anything other than a 'Squatch'. The skeptic isn't very convincing, though, and really does nothing to debunk the stories. Of course, the team never walks away with any kind of evidence whatsoever, but are certain that the Sasquatches are there and simply being coy and elusive.

I believe in the myth of the Sasquatch, but I don't believe a Sasquatch hunter can be chasing them for 25 years and not have a single bit of solid evidence of their existence.

So, what about you? Do you believe? Or is the Sasquatch just a great campfire story?

fuck Sasquatch they need to find the lockness. i mean idk if its real or not. people are always hunting for those things. and since that the case i would have thought one would have been found already. i remember when i didnt believe in the giant squid, then they start popping up in Asia ( don't quote me). whrere could they be hiding. i wanna see some godzilla shit happen when an animal is mutated. that would be crazy.

I find it hard to believe that this 8 foot tall beast can go by unnoticed (However I guess with this TV show people are noticing) for so long. I will tell you this though, that iconic photo of it running and looking at the camera scares the shit out of me.

Finding Bigfoot is an absolute scam of a show. They claim they have all this evidence but can't be bothered to show it and there has never been on shred of proof for Sasquatch. It's a make believe story. There is no way a 7+ foot animal could leave absolutely no trace... all of the "camera footage" is dubious at best and looks staged.

With all of these things I am in the middle...I don't know that there is a Bigfoot and I don't know that there isn't. I have seen alot of the shows in the past...never saw the finding bigfoot show.

I like the idea tat there are experts on "Squatches"...who have never seen him, but know everything about their behavior patterns, but can't seem to locate one.

And that knowledge and behaviour seems to change from episode to episode, and sometimes within an episode. I've noticed that the 'howls' have changed dramatically this season. And the 'tree knocking', which they have always claimed is 'Bigfoot communication', was used in last night's episode as a means of driving the creatures into a trap.

They see a broken twig? It's a Squatch putting down trail markers. The see a bit of fur? It's a Squatch. They see a half-eaten animal? It's a Squatch's leftovers. They hear movement in the bush? It's a Squatch. They see eyes shining in the dark? It's a Squatch. There couldn't possibly be any other explanation, right?

One of the funniest 'bits' I saw was when the experts set up some fireworks in the middle of the night and set it off, claiming that it would attract the beasts from miles around. I still remember the line: "It's like the Fourth of July for Squatches!"

The hunters claim that the editors and producers make them look stupid, but I really think they do a pretty good job of it themselves. They don't really need any help.

Still, it's funnier than most comedies on television today.

It seems unlikely that such a big strong creature would be so timid and determined to avoid humans. They would need large amounts of food and would probably regard humans a a meat source. But in order to argue that they are out there, enthusiasts have to assume that the are timid and that is why we cannot see them.

People who believe in ghosts see ghosts instead of curtains flapping gently in the breeze. People who don't believe in ghosts see what they really see. People who believe in Nessie see Nessie instead of an overturned boat floating across the loch. People who believe in Bigfoot will see Bigfoot instead of the bear or bush. The mind can convince people that they're seeing what the people believe they are seeing. It's quite probable that they're seeing something - just not Bigfoot.

People have big imaginations... especially in America. I mean I'm sure many of them watch these TV shows, and it does have an influence on what they "supposedly" saw.

It's possible, I say, but I'm sick of all the weak evidence.
If Bigfoot exists, we'll find it eventually, but we really need
to get serious about the search, we have like only a few

I've never seen Storage Wars, but I've heard and read that the producers seed the storage units. That's a scam. Hunting Bigfoot isn't a scam, nor is it fake. It's just that the experts are so convinced that Bigfoot exists that they can't accept sightings to be anything other than a Sasquatch. They rarely ever consider other possibilities and explanations to the point that they make themselves sound stupid.

That was the one I saw last night on Discovery Channel. It was the same episode where the mother and baby were picking up apples from beneath an apple tree, and the short guy who took his dog out for walkies and came back to find a Sasquatch crouching on his deck and looking in his patio doors. He ran into his house and locked the doors and turned out the lights. He even pointed out the flood lights on the house and garage which actually left the back deck in complete darkness. When Renee (the skeptic) mentioned it, the guy explained that the lights were bright enough to bend around the corner and light up the deck enough to see the creature crouching there. Funnily enough, he left his dog outside and the dog, apparently, didn't even bark.

It wouldn't be so bad if the experts tried to eliminate other possibilities instead of simply saying that it can't be anything other than a Sasquatch on the scantest of evidence. For instance, there was one episode where someone filmed what looked like a Sasquatch in the background jumping from tree to tree. I saw a kid on a rope swing. In the show, a kid on a swing wasn't even considered. It simply had to be a Sasquatch.

I would settle for a single bit of tangible evidence. The experts do well explaining away the LACK of evidence, but they're quick to jump on the weakest evidence which can be easily faked or explained away. Still, it's rather fun watching them make fools of themselves week after week. Sure beats watching Two and a Half Men

I pre-set my DVR to record all new Bigfoot shows when it first aired...I've noticed the past few weeks the DVR is recording 2 new shows a week...It'll record a show on Sunday night & another on Monday night...Are you getting 2 new episodes each week in Canada?
