I'll be cheering for France of course. I really like the song that was picked. I don't like the fact it was chosen so early though...I can see myself bored with it by the time the competition kicks off.

France is not bad, although my favorites are probably Iceland and Norway.. I'm kinda biased, lol! But our song is sooo catchy though, been listening to it non-stop since it won on Saturday, and the guy singing is extremely good looking. You can tell he used to be a model! Damn.. he's so hot and he has such a bubbly personality, he seems like a great guy

Their Waterline song sounds like 80s Roxette. Honestly, it probably fits very well with what the Eurovision competition is looking for.

I can't vote for my country's song, but if I could I would.. I think the song is catchy and the singer is hot as hell!

    Norway: Tooji - Stay

I think we should make a thread about "hottest guys from ESC" in the celeb news & gossip section! But it's probably better to wait until more songs are picked.. few countries have picked their songs so far.

I think a lot of the songs this year are crap.. I don't know, nothing has really stood out.. I like Iceland, probably my #1.

Countries that are good but not great: France and Denmark

Countries with ok songs: Switzerland, Germany, Italy, Hungary

Crap songs: Ukraine, Belarus, Croatia, Albania, Israel (very weird, 60s flashback), Cyprus (honestly.. I know people like this song, but I find it SO ANNOYING with the "la la" parts)

The UK is to be represented this year by 75 year old Engelbert Humperdinck. Not sure what he'll be singing, but expect the usual Euro-Crap.

I am doing so well to resist temptation. Knowing that most of the entries have already been chosen and viewable onine, i am determined to wait until i can watch them all at once.

I am a huge fan of Eurovision and look forward to watching the entries in a couple weeks time. I will be able to post my faves then.

(Curse you all who have links to entries, adding more temptation lol)

Curses, curses, and more curses, it was just no good.

    I couldn't resist any longer.

So i've seen 25 of the entries, still 18 to see for me, but i can happily say, it is going to take an amazing song to be able to knock my current favourite from top spot.

My fave so far is: [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=up9NaelZPsw&context=C4fdf4fdADvjVQa1PpcFP2 nEpP5VNO8Di0q6aGinkRy-HrR9o8-ew=[/ame]

    Ok

Now i have heard all the songs.

This year is going to be as good as previous ones, so many great songs that it is hard to choose even 10 favourites, let alone my top 3. I really like 25 of the entries.
Naturally, some will go out in the semi-finals, i'm just hoping that the following 10 make it through.

Albania, Finland, Greece, Israel, Latvia, Russia, Switzerland, Bulgaria, Norway and Sweden.

I like the UK entry, better than 95% of the crap we've entered in the last decade, but i don't care if it doesn't win, because, i have a hope that Germany will win it, fortunately they get an automatic place in the final like the UK.

    My top 5 would be:

    1. Germany (the most fantastic and beautiful song imo)
    2. Bulgaria (my personal favourite)
    3. Switzerland (best band in a whilst)
    4. Albania (haunting beauty to this)
    5. Israel (fun factor)

^ A lot of people on youtube, who are ranking the entries are generally ranking Albania near the bottom. I don't think the song deserves that placing. Its actually very good imo.

I've been watching the entries a lot, my mind keeps changing. Some get better the more i listen (Macedonia, Estonia, Iceland), and some get worse (Denmark, Belgium, Ukraine).

    My new top 5

    1. Germany
    2. Cyprus
    3. Bulgaria
    4. Switzerland
    5. France

(Estonia, Albania, Finland, Israel and Macedonia are in my top 10)

Its going to be a great contest, i like at least 30 of the entires.

This is the video i made for Youtube which ranks the entries in my preference. I had to take my time making it, i like so many of the songs, and some of them just keep growing on me. My top 10 has changed for a third or fourth time, but this video marks my final decision.

Many people don't like the song because of the 'shouting' aspect, tho its certainly not shouting in my book. Rona's technical skills are fantastic, and was in my opinion the best performance of the first semi-final. I was dissapointed by Greece, don't know how they made the final. A bit gutted for Switzerland and Israel failing to get through.

And how the fuck is this a rip off? They both have up tempo dance songs, but the song in itself is fucking NOTHING like Popular from last year! I am so fucking sick and tired of people saying Norway is a rip off.. like a bad copy of Eric Saade. When did Saade invent up tempo dance songs? He didn't, huh? Oh.. so I guess it's not really a copy after all?

Sorry.. but I'll lose it if one more person says this is a rip off. You must be both blind and deaf to think that.. because they are nothing alike! The songs are so totally different. Ugh.. whatever. I guess there's no use in discussing this. People will be haters.

The Official 2013 Eurovision Song Contest Thread.

The yearly European Broadcasting Area's music extravaganza is held every May.

My excitement for the contest begins a little earlier than that, and this year is no different. As soon as entries are known and posted on Youtube, i get the chance to see them at the earliest opportunity, and i love it.

So far, only 25% of the entries are known. It will be at least March 16th before the last entry, Moldova this year, reveals its song. This is according to the Eurovision website calendar. It does not factor in Germany, UK or France, which could reveal at any time between now and then, or even possibly after the 16th.

Anyway, i thought i'd start with an official thread for Eurovision talk (more interactive than the group i adminstrate).

I think, of the 25% i've heard so far, my favourite is Norway. My 2nd favourite happens to be Denmark, so i'm guessing Scandinavia are in with a good chance of winning for a 2nd year running, since Sweden won in 2012. The contest is held this year in Malmo.

Here is Norway for your enjoyment. I flippin love it!!!

I've heard of this but I don't think they televise it in the USA---I don't know why--probably would get viewers.

Haha. I don't have every song, but i've got a total of 83 songs from 2003 onwards which i particularly like on my hard-drive.

nycguydowntown - i don't know if it may air on one of your smaller channels, but there is a chance. It is broadcast, though not live on tv, the day after instead, in over 30 countries which are unable to enter the contest. Australia seems to have the largest cult following of such nations as far as i know.

    Here is Germany's song.

Imho it sounds somewhat like last year's winner "Euphoria".

^ Hmmm, that may grow on me, but on first hearing, i don't like it. When did Germany choose their song, i haven't seen it on the eurovision playlist that i'm getting all other previews from.
