South African olympic athlete Oscar Pistorius arrested on suspicion of murder after his girlfriend has been shot dead. BBC reporting breaking news just now.

Pistorius took four shots at his girlfriend, Reeva Steenkamp, from a 9 mm automatic pistol inside his home in South Africa. He hit her twice, once in the arm and once in the head.

Reeva Steenkamp had tweeted to Pistorius yesterday:

"What do you have up your sleeve for love tomorrow??? #getexcited #ValentinesDay"

South African police are saying there is a history of "domestic incidents" at the Pistorius home. They say that reports that Pistorius may have mistaken his girlfriend for an intruder did not come from them.

All eyes were on Oscar during the Summer Olympics...We talked about him in the Hot Topics Summer Olympics thread...Inspiring life-story...I liked him, he's eye-Candy, looked good in his Spandex and he seemed so down to earth during interviews...Crazy to hear this story about him now that he's more Famous than ever....But he must have a temper on him because the police have been called out to his home in the past...

I'm going to wait for more evidence because everything that's being leaked about would COULD have happened is speculation....

His Dad gave a statement to some reporter or newspaper saying Oscar is sad & embarrassed…Really?...I wonder if he was he embarrassed back in 2009 when a 19yr old lady accused him of assaulting her? As more of his background comes to light it’s beginning to look like Oscar has a SERIOUS anger problem…Oscar LOVED when his Face GRACED Magazine covers across the Globe and now that its been alleged he shot that Beautiful young Girl he’s SAD & embarrassed?

Pistorius was known for his aggressive nature and violent temper, and often boasted about his fanatical love of guns.

Pistorius also told his Twitter followers how he had pulled a gun out after hearing his washing machine going at his home and thinking it was an intruder. "Nothing like getting home to hear the washing machine on thinking its an intruder to go into full combat recon mode into the pantry! waa" he tweeted in November.

That month, a newspaper also reported the runner had threatened to "break the legs" of a friend of a man he thought had slept with his then girlfriend.

The 26-year-old athlete had also told reporters about drawing a pistol to search his home when his alarm went off the night before an interview and said he slept with a pistol, machine gun, cricket bat and baseball bat for protection.

In 2009, Pistorius was arrested after a 19-year-old woman accused him of assault, but no charges were brought against him because of a lack of evidence.

So Oscar’s Defense Team is saying he THOUGHT an intruder was in his bathroom. He got up, walked down the hall, shook the door knob, realized the Intruder was in there and instead of calling 911 he shot 4 rounds into the door...Wow…They gotta do better than that….

“Nel said the couple had had a shouting match and Steenkamp fled to the bathroom, down a seven-meter (yard) passage from the bedroom, and locked herself in. He said the 26-year-old Pistorius got up from bed and had to put on his prosthetic legs to reach the toilet door.”

“Nel told the court the door was broken open after the shots were fired. Pistorius' lawyer insisted there was no evidence to substantiate a murder charge.

"Was it to kill her, or was it to get her out?" defense attorney Barry Roux asked the court, referring to the broken-down door. "We submit it is not even murder. There is no concession this is a murder."


The judge says the Premeditated Murder charge could be downgraded later I’m guessing to Murder or Manslaughter…As much as I liked that Super Nice Celeb Oscar showed the world during the Olympics I believe he wanted to scare the Shit out of Reeva. Maybe, just maybe he only wanted to terrorize her while she locked herself in the bathroom…

Was he stupid enough to forget Bullets can go through most doors? I don't see how the Charge can go any lower than Murder...
