Lumpia! No question.
Humus and Pita Bread.
The grammar Nazi inside me rages over the imposed question.
"What ARE your favorite appetizers?"
Although that question itself is a logical fallacy because there is only one "favorite".

Calamari...always.
A couple weeks ago for an appetizer they made the calamari fried with some capers and a light garlic/lemon sauce...I was apprehensive initially.... but WOW!
Gyoza, edamame, buffalo wings, various soups (clam chowdah, minestrone, chicken noodle....).
fried calamari, for one. And, yes, buffalo wings as mentioned elsewhere (though those are often more like the "main course snack" at sports bars and such).

I actually just like crudite. Anything bigger starts to intrude on the main dish.
Why are nachos always an appetizer on menus? I'm assuming because you're supposed to share them? I like them as a main dish. Beef or steak, no jalapenos.
Lex
Tzatziki and pita.
Americans need to keep their guns so they can protect themselves from gun violence just like Nancy Lanza did. And like Chris Kyle did. And like Gabby Giffords did. And like Tom Clements did.
Spinach-artichoke dip or crab dip (or any kind of cheesy dip - the latter is probably more of a Maryland thing)
CHEDDAR Jalapeno poppers (not those cream cheese abominations)
Caprese
I'll second the caprese.
Kim Chi. As provided with tofu stew or any other Korean dish. And it's good on its own too!
And yeah, calamari is good too... but I'm not too keen on it being deep fried. Or anything fried really.
Fresh Line-caught Scottish Salmon , with a dash of Lemon juice .
Another vote for calamari.
My favourite restaurant in town makes an amazing five-cheese dip that they serve with pita, too. I also like hummus and pita.
Chicken Tenders or the like
I may be bad, but I'm perfectly good at it.

When I eat out, I like to order things that I can't make at home. One of my favorites is eggplant tower. It is complicated with many ingredients, the taste combinations are amazing.
I make good pot stickers, also precum, as suggested by Hunter.

I think that kim chi would be on my list, too, if I had more experience with it. I almost never see it, but I LOVE IT...I think the only time in recent years I had it was from a food-cart in Portland or perhaps it was a restaurant in Garden Grove. Well, one of those.

Gyoza, any pickled vegetables (especially Japanese seaweed), and fried calamari.

Memories of food of future passed.
We used to make sherried chicken livers with my in-laws when we played Pinochle on many a Saturday night.
Medic1's Scottish Salmon sounds great - but I'd have that as the entre'e. SMOKED as an appetizer, perhaps.
(or on my pumpernickel bagel for brekkie)
A good pate' is very nice.
Steamed Clams are great, by the dozen.
Shrimp Cocktail w/ cocktail sauce
Bacon Wrapped Sea Scallops - a New Year's Eve make at home favourite
Fried Calamari with a Mango-Habanero drizzle - Sadly the 4* Restaurant that served them just closed in Rochester after being here for 45 years. As long as they're tender, I like them many different ways, though.
I'd say wings, but as FrankFrank mentioned -they're more like a meal when I get them. Mango-Habanero sauce from Buffalo Wild Wings is good - a touch of sweet with a lot of lovely heat.
Or, we frequently get "Sweet & Sour" or "Boss Sauce" style - which is sweeter and milder than Buffalo Style - my family can't handle the super hot, and not overly fond of vinegar. If I'm having traditional Buffalo Style - they'd best be HOT. Pizza and Wings are a dinner for us.
Good, Sharp Cheddar Cheese and good quality crackers - frequently w/ apple slices
Smoked Salmon
Fresh Fruit can make a great appetizer - Watermelon, Canteloupe, Honey Dew, Strawberries, Pineapple and such.
Do soups count as appetizers - or is the soup a separate course altogether?
Good Salads - field greens w/ romaine, lots of assorted veggies - cukes, tomatoes, some onion, garbanzo beans, black olives, celery, carrot . . . you get the idea.
Yes, I've made myself hungry.
And I know, if I'll only be true, to this glorious quest . . .

I have no idea... I don't really do appetizers. If I dine out, I go straight to the entree and that's about it; unless a salad is considered an appetizer though I've never looked at it as such.
It's Ice Wine Festival weekend in our neck of the woods - a catering chef that's part of Rochester Institute of Technology spent the week working on assorted Ice Wine recipes, including Appetizers and Desserts.
I posted a pic of one in F&G in the Triple G Appreciation thread.
(Thought I still had it, but I have another .jpg queued up already.)
And I know, if I'll only be true, to this glorious quest . . .
We rarely dine out, but if we do, devilled kidneys, or maybe a thick vegetable soup, though paté on crispy crouton slices are nice.
That sounds like a genuinely British delight.
Would that be the precursor to Steak and Kidney pie?
And I know, if I'll only be true, to this glorious quest . . .
From the Ice Wine Festival - some recipes - not necessarily appetizers, but, here you go . . .

I would like to add stuffed mushrooms to my favorites as well.
