Mozzila Firefox won't save the previous section and re-opens a older session + other issues

Firefox has a weird problem, when closed it doesn't ask if I want to save the session, and when I open again it re-opens an older session, the same older session (same tabs/pages, etc.) plus it opening an pop-up window even with adblock installed. Some words are transformed in links to adds.

    Help???

The problem is that Firefox is not really closing. It is hanging at the moment you try to close it. When you re-open it, it re-opens to the old session, because that session never actually closed.

You need to figure out what is causing it to hang. The most likely cause is some extension you have installed. Have you installed any Firefox extensions recently? Try uninstalling them.

If that doesn't work, try disabling the Java plugin.

I actually tried to re-instal it, but I think I did it wrong or something (I was in a hurry with little time), I will try what you said.

In addition to T-Rexx's recommendation, try launching Firefox in its safe mode which will disable any interfering add-ons. BTW, when you say "when I open again" are you talking about normal usage after a computer reboot or some time, or are you immediately opening it again after closing in order to examine/re-create this problem issue of yours? The reason I ask is that even on the speediest of PC's, I've observed Firefox-DOT-exe can continue to run as it cleans up its memory usage and closes itself especially if you have a bunch of extensions, lots of sessions with Flash use, etc. You can check your Task Manager for when it disappears from there (all instances) or wait a good 30-60 seconds to be sure when doing this testing.

I installed the Session Manager addon a while ago:
    https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/fir...ssion-manager/

It's really helpful for the moments when Firefox is bitchy and loses the current session.

I have had non-stop problems with firefox in the past few months with abode flash player. Causing constant crashes if more then one window is open and uses the flash player. Firefox hangs, freezes and just stops responding.

I don't have the knowledge to understand all that I have read but it seems its a very common problem in the forums for flash player and firefox.
In fact some sites such as vid chat rooms have information stating to go back to a older version of adobe flash player or firefox to solve the problem. Not sure if the problem is due to Adobe's player or the browser which is up to date.

Something about the new versions of flash player needing its own sand box.

The end result is I have switched back to IE9 which the best I understand the flash player is not a add on in. I don't experience the problem on IE9 and have multiple windows open with various player applications open at once.

Have read that these problems are also known on Chrome but not as severe as Firefox.
After enjoying firefox for many yrs it is becoming to buggy and maintenance prone causing me to rethink the continued use of the browser as my default.
