Conservapedia. Really???
Another right wing Christianist site with an incredibly strong bias against homosexuality....citing the same few historical sources and then extending the instances as indicative of the moral rot that brought Rome to its knees? The article cites Paul, Juvenal, Martial, Chrysostom and a dubious claim by Sussman. Certainly Paul and Chrysostom had a clear bias against homosexuality and Paul particularly has been the worst thing that ever happened to homos in the last 2000 years since his word, and not that of Christ Himself has formed the opinions of the fundamentalists.
Juvenal is a satirist and the weight of his observations come from a single piece of work

As far as Martial goes, his attitudes are personal and biased as well; the poet had lovers of both sexes; the following are the epigrams that form our knowledge of his views.

But really. Conservapedia is a site created by bible banging fundies use to support their fight against the 'Homosexual Agenda' in the US.
You can be probably surer that what I say is true because it is nakedly evident that I may have studied and learned more than you have, based on your inability to express an idea. You can be sure by proving me wrong. But you'll have to do it better than Conservapedia.
The fact that you chose Conservapedia and another fundamentalist site tells us a great deal about your mind-set. It would have taken absolutely no work at all to use the very general, but far more expansive Wikipedia page:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Homosex...n_ancient_Rome
It provides a much greater list of sources. And puts paid to your ridiculous assertion that all Roman men hated their women.
As I said...if you want to play with the homos, you're going to have to step up your game.
