To everyone in the path of the snowstorm: Good luck and godspeed. Hope it's not as bad as the forecast predicts. As if Hurricane Sandy wasn't enough!

Meh..........these things are the norm during Buffalo winters LOL![]()
Well we've had about 10 cm of snow so far and it is coming down steady.
But it is payday, so I know that all the staff will make it into work.
Well, it was nice know you all.
FPNY, Bradlee, RaKroma, gsdx, ronboy, Criostoir, palbert, and the ones I'm forgetting. I'll see you hereafter.
Do I know my employees or what? Yup they all made it...I guess they just love their work so much.... the annoying part though is that I was going to declare a snow day and now I have to sit at my desk all day long too.
10 am, just had a few flakes start to fall. Wind has picked up since 5 this morning. I think I will be snowed in till Sunday at the earliest, I have a long dirt drive way off the last road to be plowed.
Hmmm, plowed, I might have to do something about that...

NYC, New England brace for 1 to 3 feet of snow

Meanwhile, snowy Denver will finally get our second measurable snowfall of the season tomorrow. "Up to two inches."

So I didn't even look out the window until 2 pm today and then I realized that everyone should have been sent home at about noon.
Coming into our driveway at the farm...which had been ploughed at about 8:30 this morning, we bullied our way through some three foot high drifts...
Hopefully everyone got home okay.
Im hoping that there wont be too much, but we went to the market and stocked up on food....just in case.
I'm still here boys. It's snowing to beat the band, winds are picking up and it's starting to get dark. We still have power. My generator system is 90% installed, the only thing we are missing is the freaking generator, so it's only a matter of time before the power goes out.
I have plenty of food and vodka, so don't worry!

I'm at home now so I can help my parents out. About 5" on the ground already. Playing cribbage with my mom and my dad is being a sour puss.
So my mom skunked me in cribbage and beat me in Rummy 500. Such a shame you need 4 people to play hearts because that is all I have been playing on my ipad at work.
spot made yellow snow and run back into the house.
he does not like this weather.
omg were will he poop
windsa howlin, power flickerin
Watching this on CNN. You guys be safe. It looks scary.
LOL my dog sits under the table and is always in the kitchen whenever he smells food.
I remember in my ex's condo when my dog peed all down his staircase which is carpeted and I would never bestow that upon another person.
Reckon I have been peeing as much as a typical dog because both my mom and I have been imbibing kind of heavily. Ugh, I wish I had my BF to snuggle with tonight instead of my dog.
Same here in Holbrook. You're in for some flooding, according to cute Todd on WBZ
Just wish the damn networks would put on regular programming instead of non stop weather coverage. All we need to do is look out the window. How many different ways can you say "it's snowing like a bitch", LOL
We have been watching 7 coverage. They had Al Roker on and when we had dinner, I was expecting some nightly news but alas, nothing but stupid weather coverage.
I wish I invited my roomie with me to my rents so it would be at least more fun ad we would have a forth for Hearts.
OMG!!! N.J. got 5 inches of snow so far!!! RUN FOR YOUR LIFE! SAVE YOUR SELVES!!!
*squeals with horror*
Oh, and Vannie. I meant to say goodbye to Vannie.
I guess it's too late now -- he'll never find his way back in this mess, and he's too far out to hear me callin'.
And he was shore had a pretty mouth.
Sigh.
Wow... I bathed in the sun, and wanted a little more breeze than was to be had. Not compaining, it was an awesome day.
I live in Florida.
Today was a ridiculously beautiful day. True, according to climate projections Florida will lose 2/3's of the land within 100 years, but for now, it's a good place to live, and so I live here.
...but then scientist do not account for the nature perturpations of the Earth's axis, which would tend toward projections of Ice-sheats moving down over my contentent. Not a problem for Florida, but for Canada and much of the USA.... well.
A little more CO2 in the aptmosphere, in a better, more controlled and intelligent manner isn't such a bad thing.
Sometimes truth is controversial.
Some times truth is convenient.
Always, truth is hard to realize and comprehend.
BALANCE -- has not been achieved. We swung too hard. We must correct still, but it's not as horrible as some think.
Driving thru snow, digging out after a snowstorm, walking in the slush...GOOD LUCK!
For the scientist:
___
It's not that those who struggle to understand do not say because they are greedy about knowledge, it's that they have so little faith in you.
THOSE WHO STRUGGLE TO UNDERSTAND the order of this world, as YOU and I do not (I do not perceive as they do, not those who have deloveted so much to this effort--more than YOU who are a moron, but nothing compared to the decades of thought of those who TRY in this endeavour)
THEY WHO PERCEIVE BETTER, think WE can not accept reality.
So, they play the game of the pendulum. We tread too far this way, so must correct.
THEY, need to lay down ALL THEIR CARDS. The young ones are bright enough to comprehend, and when they do, THEY WILL ACT.
Scientists, struggle/fumble/try to understand, they do not HOPE for what is pleasing, THEY STRUGGLE KNOWING HOW OFF BALANCE WE ARE, and hoping we can correct this.
The scientest are not powerful speakers/movers/shakers of humanity--they just KNOW how we mess our world up.
REALITY is mess. WE ARE MESS. We must dance as we never have, WISELY, LOVINGLY, SCIENTIFICALLY, HUMANELY...
Our dance is will shape this world, not metaphorically, but in reality.
We dance, a dance of death or life.
We dance.
FOOLISHLY OR WISELY
P.S.
I LOVE YOU.
...and there is no need for humanity in this world. Just say'n.... It would be nice, but WE are not needed.

I called my grandmother who lives in Massachusetts this evening to make sure she was alright. She said she has power and heat (she lives in an assistant living facility, so I'm sure she'll be OK in case of power outages). My cousins are out playing in the snow from what she told me, so I suppose they're enjoying it.
Be safe, everyone!
Watching the Weather Channel and Mark Elliot dinged my gaydar. Sick of local coverage.
I was out shoveling earlier... there wasn't a ton of snow in terms of inches, but god damn was it heavy. it was a solid mixture of snow a slush. not looking forward to having to do it again tomorrow.
"killing a man should take long enough for one's conscience to get in the way."
Was feeling adventurous and went out into the snow just now albeit stupidly: boots and jimjams with my Patriots hat!
Picture of a planter out back...
And my car again...
One I tried to take of the woods but failed...
PS: I love the snow affect that my cam captures.
PPS: For some reason, the picture of the stone wall again got posted.
A massive snowball fight has broken out at Boston University.

They named the storm NEMO how absurd!
It looks so fluffy!![]()
It is so beautiful here today.
We are having a snow festival with sleigh rides x-country skiing, snowshowing, brick oven fired pizzas and sledding as a fundraiser for our organization.
It is sunny....we have about 2 feet of snow and there is only a light wind....although it is cold.
Well done...weather people.
We lost power around midnight. I woke up and power was back on. Plum Island is getting washed away, according to the news. Driving on the roads is still banned, 1 year in jail penalty! I can't check out the flooding from the astronomical high tide we had at 10am. We on the Outer Cape will have the storm until night fall. No sense in shoveling today, got the fire going, staying toasty inside.
Hoping all the Jubbers and their families un the New England area are doing well...whether or not it was the worst storm ever Nemo (not sure I'm liking this new fangled naming storms outside of tropical systems) was plenty dangerous... extremely high winds and lots of people affected by at least two feet of snow. We in North Jersey were in the mixed precipation portion of the storm and the snow didn't start going til around 6pm....the real heavy slushy snow that loki described, about ten inches in the Jersey City/ Bayonne area. Really great pics to all who braved the elements, and hopefully things won't get like this again anytime soon!
Amazing things ahead for the Mets ....hosts of the MLB All Star Game in 2013
