It sucks to live here to put it mildly and not only if you are gay.
BAsically our dear motherfucking politicians decided to sell the country to the jews and to the french, which resulted in the downfall of our healthcare system and the dramatic decreases of our salaries in the past 10 years.
Now, the only good side of liberal control (which thankfully ended in 2010) is that even though we barely have enough food to eat, people are dying of easily curable diseases, education has became a privilege of the rich and if you belong to a certain ethnic group you won't have any confrontations with the law because as the policeman you would be branded a racist for doing your job, is that there is a near-equivalent to marriage type of union between same sex couples.
Now people here work 12 hours/day and they are pretty tired. I believe they are too tired to give a fuck about what is happening.
Is it a good thing?
I don't think so. Yes, we can now have a union as gays here, but
a, it is not the same as marriage
b, it is still considered inferior to marriage
c, the price that our society paid for this very small change was pretty high, and it wasn't worth it in general.
d, it is obvious that homosexuality and gay people were used as a means to collect more votes (And this is where I must state that Hungary is a country where a lot of gays voted for the traditionalist party, because the liberalists basically destroyed everything that was built over 20 years before they rose to power.)
e, apathy, depression and ignorance became a common feature in the typical hungarian.
So basically I consider the attitude towards gay people as a positive side effect of the last fucked up 8 years.
But it won't last.
