How many guys actually enjoy the thrill in the possibility of scoring a chance with a guy who wouldn't necessarily go after you?

OK so everyone's got a little bit of fear when it comes to being rejected and I thought this might be interesting to ask. How many of you guys go for guys that are completely out of your league and don't mind the risk of being rejected however extreme it might be? When I say out of your league I mean a guy who might be smarter, sexier, muscular, charismatic, rich, broke, thuggish, affluent or even straight. The next question is.. 'Have you ever managed to woo a guy into liking you despite the difference in leagues? This is a question I'm basing off of society - and certain gay guys in particular who will right you off the moment they see you are not in their league (racial preference, social class, or even physical shape and appearance). It happens all the time in the strait world.. where a guy puts his neck on the line for a very very beautiful girl but I feel like gay guys are little less prone to putting themselves out there to be turned down. I dunno questions down below... lets chat about this.

Wow, if rejection really rolls off your back like that, more power to you. This kind of thrill-seeking is an exercise in confidence, which is healthy I think. I don't think I ever had a thrill going after a hot model looking guy, just a feeling of potential reward for spending the risk. I don't consider any guy out of my league. That doesn't mean I will score with any given guy, or even might, but you never know. Then again, I'm attracted more to personalities than looks. A friendly fun demeanor is better at engaging my interest than a hot ass or chiseled face. And if thry have a friendly fun demeanor, one might argue they're more likely o give me a fair shake, no matter what he looks like. I've connected with guys ranging from nothing-special to godlike, and I've enjoyed them all.

As I have been the recipient of Unnatural Selection before, I am a believer in it. That doesn't mean I truly ascribe to the idea that we are actually in any leagues, but I am realistic when I concede that the majority of the world, not just gay men, see dating that way.

Just as on JUB, I flirt via comments with guys of all sorts, just in case there is any latent interest out there in my circles. There are so many things to find attractive in a man, I'm glad I have varied tastes. Some are young, old, my age, and along a huge range of personalities.

If someone simply flirts back, or smiles, or laughs, then I've had my thrill. Some day, a guy will respond with more, but I'm happy just to be attractive in platonic way for the many. We all need someone to cheer us and converse about things we enjoy, and we all need friends who admire us as people, even if we are not going to fuck them or marry them.

The funny thing is: there are a lot of plain, conservative, clone-looking guys who most gay guys would lay in a second because of their muscles, etc.... that I don't have the slightest desire to touch. And in those cases, people look at me, see that I'm no "ten" or even close and then they suddenly act like I'm pretentious or lying to myself when I say I wouldn't touch these guys.

To me, that's funny. People think of it as some sort of flat scale where someone who is a "2" or "3" (as I likely am) will automatically want someone that society would deem a "9" or "10." It doesn't work that way.

A couple guys that I thought were physically 'out of my league' but hooked up with by surprise when I was younger turned out to be about as normal as anyone else. I certainly learned that if you love to fuck and can hold a conversation and have a sense of humour that you appeal to the right kind of guy...no matter what they look like.

In a couple of instances, I learned that the prettiest in the shop, weren't necessarily to my taste if they were looks obsessed or shallow, and there were a few times that I found myself making polite excuses to shut down any further action and move on.

It's a different situation with straight men. There are a number of straight guys I'd like to seduce but I know there's no chance of even trying.
