Sucked? Eh, a little strong. But was it special? HELL no. They even cut down Kelly and Michelles' microphones, so what was the point of the reunion if you couldn't hear the other two?

I was a bit disappointed, tbh.

I didnt recognize two songs when they started playing. I think you should recognize the songs.
I thought 'girls win the war (title) based on silouette of the stage
Flat stage - boring
Light wall - Ill give her that
Silouette on the stage - She didnt line up with the silouette lying on the stage. She should have if "she's been perparing for this her whole life" (paraphrasing)
The stage should have been multi leveled
She sang good, good dancing
She could have made a statement if she sang the girls won the war song
It was a let down in my opinion
Janet and Madonna were more entertaining

It was nothing to write home about.
Yeah...it sucked. 50 year old Madonna was better last year.
She sucked half of power outtage with her..
so

It's a matter of opinion. Millions disagree. If you never liked Beyonce in the first place, you're probably not going to like her halftime performance.
If you don't stand for something, you'll fall for anything.
I like Beyonce but wow that performance was tired - it is no different from how she does her performances and concerts. Everything she did we have seen before, nothing special, nothing innovative, nothing new...she did not live up to the hype.
At one point I thought, wasnt this done already at any of her past concerts from the boring modelesque poses at the start, the pauses to let people scream and the catwalk strut among others have been so overly done. Expected more from this performance since her last CD was a flop (compared to her other cds) but she did not live up to the hype.
Im some people found it great and all that, since Beyonce, like Taylor Swift, is now very evenly overrated.
How many viewers did her performance get?
Like that biting rolling stone or newsweek commentary, Beyonce is rehashing the fierce.

I thought it was a lot of fun, the visual effects and pyrotechnics were nice. She's good-looking. But her songs are dull. The songs themselves brought down the quality of the show.
I like Beyonce. I have all of her albums. I LOVE Destiny's Child. But the halftime show was... lackluster. Bland. Sad.
I had higher hopes. Maybe my expectations were too high? I normally love her...
At least she was better than Alicia Keys. What happened to her? She used to have an epic voice! She was struggling so bad!
It was ok, nothing special they could have gotten someone better...like the Rolling Stones..
You cant change the way the wind blow's, but you can change the angle of your sail to take you somewhere else!!
additional note: Beyonce's walk was good.
Sad when you realize that she's about the last 'live' entertainer left who can do a half-time show.
I'm not super crazy about her music. In fact can't stand most of it. To her credit she is a great vocalist but I didn't enjoy this as much as last years. Basically I wasn't thoroughly entertained, but I was surprised at parts.

it wasn't bad. not great, but not terrible... I probably enjoyed Destiny's Child more than Beyonce by herself.

No I really enjoyed it.
who we talking about?
FPNYAnnoying JUBBERS since 2003
I think we're now used to getting our heads blown at halftime shows. Not by the music but by the spectacle. Nobody gives a rat's ass about the music - we just want to be "wowed" now. And when everyone is expecting (or demanding) to have their underwear blown off, it's gonna be hard to deliver...just like if somebody's expecting to be really scared, or to be told an extremely funny joke.
So every year they crank the thing up to eleven with flashing lights, special effects and surprise guest stars (Major Lazer!). And now we're used to it, and ready for it, so, y'know, enh. I still think this year should have had a Destiny's Child reunion, with all non-Beyonce members being hologram Beyonce. That would've been ramping the performance up to twelve.

I re watched it. My body tingled as she strutted.
It was better the second time around but there were low points like the 1st song, the part where I thought they were going to break out into country as they redneckonized "hey hey hey hey hey hey hey hey", and Im just glad they didnt sing Survivor. I dont not like the song.
The light wall was good
I would post a slo mo of the strut but its copyright footage.
I did not know there was a power outage. I didnt understand the comments when I looked at comments about her performance
Being the fan that I am, I may be a bit bias. I really, really enjoyed it. In my opinion, it was better than Madonna's last year. But that's just me.
The only thing that I didn't understand is why she wouldn't take this opportunity to premiere a new single. iTunes top 200 is blown up with Beyonce songs right now. It would have been the wise choice considering at least 80 million viewers were watching.
While I'm not a huge fan, it was nice seeing someone actually singing and not lip synching, and didn't have 10 other music personalities on stage doing a tribute this and that, for a change.
I'm impressed that Kelly and Michelle didn't fall when they just bounced up out of nowhere. Side note, Alicia Keys had some hot shoes on for the occasion.
It's in vogue now to be a Beyonce hater. The girl can dance and the girl can sing. I thought she was great. I take her over Madonna any day.
when they're going to have a rapper for the super bowl? jay-z should do the next super bowl show or better yet the wu tang since it's been 20 years since they've been around. metlife stadium next year.
tired of hearing these old rock artists and r&b singers, pop stars doing the show. time to put some entertainment that is entertaining. not bleached whale rockers and boring overrated artists.

they're trying to appeal to the most people possible, and a huge chunk of that is middle-aged guys watching football.
there was an article in the NY Post today alleging that they might not even have a halftime show next year, because of the cold... apparently next year will be the first time ever for the Super Bowl to be hosted in a cold weather state?
you mean they want to appeal to middle age white people that are out the loop with what's hot nowadays. hope nobody is offended with what i just said. i apologize if i did. that's what it seems like. like they had paul mccartney performing at the superbowl for how many years now doing the same song or bon jovi or i forgot who else. i know the rolling stone performed sometime ago. can't remember. the same old 4 rock bands that everybody and their mother knows. the last time they tried to appeal to the younger audience was janet jackson and justin timberland and they sure did a good job with that. it was the perform of a lifetime for all the straight men outthere. i know i wasn't feeling it because i'm not into women or titties. the performance was more talked about than the game that year. the halftime show was a snoozefest. more people are talking about the 34 minute blackout than beyonce wack ass performance.
bet you they would dig elvis out his grave to do the halftime show before jay-z or kanye.but they wouldn't have to worry about that though, they have holograms now. they had the tupac hologram last year at some english festival. i know they're like "let's do an elvis hologram. fuck jiggaman. let's do an elvis hologram for the next superbowl concert." hell, even eminem. let eminem perform.
one thing about the closet/you don't have to hurry/it will be bad tomorrow/so brother, don't you worry![]()
It's the first ever outdoor Super Bowl in a cold weather state - they've had Super Bowls in Detroit and Minneapolis (domed).
Even though I don't give two shits about the halftime show (and it perplexed me that people do - there are live concerts on PBS), this one gave me exactly enough time to get in two games of pool, so it seems like just enough time.![]()
I had to temporarily block a few gay friends on Facebook, as my feed has been exceptionally heavy on pictures, animated gifs, and youtube clips of the performance. Most with comments like "OMG I CAN'T!" and "ON REPEAT UNTIL FOREVER! <333333333333333" posted ad infinitum.
In other words, I think a lot of people really liked it.
It's an "event". People like to take part in an "event". "I watched the same thing that everybody watched!" It's music I don't care about in a setting I'm not crazy for, so I just don't watch.Even though I don't give two shits about the halftime show (and it perplexed me that people do - there are live concerts on PBS), this one gave me exactly enough time to get in two games of pool, so it seems like just enough time.![]()

Beyonce's Crazy In Love always reminds me of the dance off scene in White Chicks...ALWAYS. Am I the only one!?
Balls to the walls hella fuckin awesome.
That would be even more reason to not watch it... I certainly wouldn't bother. And old rockers like the Rolling Stones who did it a few years ago put in better performances than any of those rappers. Oh and that was the first time the Stones did it (and only time)... they are a group that has wide appeal. Check out the audiences in any of their recent live DVDs... a mix of younger and older people.
Beyonce did a good job... I am not the biggest Beyonce fan but credit is earned for a solid performance.
People are saying the sales would be front loaded and the song would have no staying power.
At the end of the day she'd be going up against "Thrift Shop" which is slaying everything right now, and she would be going up against "Scream and Shout" on the world wide scale which currently is the number one song in the world about to enjoy it's consecutive number one in multiple countries.
Not to mention she would have to deal with Taylor Swift's sales boom next week after she opens the Grammys.
I honestly think this would of been her best shot to get the song out because none of these artists are going anywhere. Taylor swift will release her new single (Probably the infectious 22), Justin T will promote Suit & Tie with performances and videos, Ke$ha at some point will be back on the radio with her current single c'mon or a new one she could rush out, Scream and Shout isn't going anywhere, along with Thrift Shop.
She will be struggling regardless of when she releases it.
but i know you would be jumping for joy if they did a reggaeton showcase for the halftime show.
you'd make a thread about it and the funniest thing is you would be the only person responding to your thread giving play by play coverage of who's performing as if anybody besides you cares. tell me i'm wrong.
one thing about the closet/you don't have to hurry/it will be bad tomorrow/so brother, don't you worry![]()
No, I'm pretty sure we'd all be weighing on a reggaeton halftime show, whether it was REAL reggaeton or the fake bullshit, whether it was good or bad. Stop trolling, yo.
lex
really? do you listen to reggaeton?
if there was a reggaeton halftime show and i was still working at taco hell, it would be the first time that it would be busy where there would be a line waiting for food. i know if i was still working there and heard there was going to be a reggaeton halftime show the next superbowl, that would give me more of an incentive to quit.

That would have wide appeal among Latinos in this country actually. But I didn't say I supported that now did I? Those rappers suck at giving live performances... like Kanye and JayZ. We've seen them give their "performances" at awards show... yea... thanks. That's enough. I'd rather take pop stars over them any day.

If it's Pitbull.... fakkkkkkkkkkkkeeeee... Pitbull doesn't even do reggaeton lol. He's a pop star.
yeah, like you'd really watch britney spears at a halftime show singing "oops, i did it again" for the 99th time. i know you probably got a jay-z cd stashed under your mattress or in your closet somewhere, you closet rap fan. let me find out you got some nas on your ipod.i will yank you and your illmatic cd out the closet.
and yeah, fuck pitbull and ho rida even though i gotta admit pitbull does make some catchy hooks and some songs to make fun of.

Oh my golly gosh, are refuji and Giancarlo going to have another scintillating three-page "discussion" about rap and reggaeton?
Well bust my nuts and break out the kettlecorn, I just can't WAIT for this!

RazorzEdge listens to a bunch of guys moaning.
Balls to the walls hella fuckin awesome.
I didn't even bring up reggaeton and I never suggested it be at the half time show. No, I'd rather have a pop star that can sing... something those rappers can't do with their limited vocals. I can't stand Jay-Z... so no thanks. and no NAS either. I do have a New Boyz album though... don't even ask lol. It was a gift.
It wouldn't surprise me if Pitbull is in the next one. But he's not a reggaeton star and never has been. Even the Spanish only album he did was more pop.
You're right. I don't post in that pointless thread because it's the equivalent of a bunch of people getting together and shouting out what song they're listening to while keeping their headphones on.
Anyway, I'll send you a PM about that. It's not even relevant to the topic.
he likes listening to porn?
new boyz???what's that?
i see that you're not a jay-z or nas fan even though you might be lying about it. how about gza from the wu tang huh? who could resist the sounds of liquid swords or legend of a liquid sword. shit, nas and jay-z are good but gza is the best.
or how about big pun? i KNOW you heard of that dude. everybody around our age group knows who big pun is. i know you got some songs on deck in your itunes.

Some annoying California rap duo... that started as a jerkin' crew duo... CD I should trade in anyways lol.

Anyways this is all off topic... and I have to be going.
As gay man not overly impressed with the half time show. Rather have watched Ricky Martin shake his booty.
