Successful lean gay porn actor who reappeared beefier and hairier

It has been a week that I'm trying to recall some retired actor and to find some pictures of him I've seen months ago. I know that the details that follow are extremely loose, but perhaps someone can help me.

He was active since no before ~2002 and until some years ago, when he retired (or dissappeared) being relatively young. He must be in his late 30s now. American, white, dark and short haired, not that hairy, well-fit but not overly muscled, more lean that not, round faced and with a charming smile. And then there were some recent pictures of him posing naked, nicely aged, somewhat beefier and more muscled yet not extremely, with an all-hairy chest. Something of a fusion between Travis James and Lucas Vick from RB, if that doesn't add to confusion. These more recent pics could have been part of a shoot (I'd think yes) but it was a solo and AFAIK was not a commercial release, though I've seen it somewhere.

I know it will be obvious when I find him, but I'd prefer not to drive me mad in between. He was a well established actor with a fairly standard name, probably working for some of the main studios. Key elements here are his smile and this pictures from years later where he looks greatest than ever, hairy and grown-up. He must have some tattoo(s) in his chest or arms because I recall looking at it to check it was the same person.

Ok, I found him. The description was not entirely accurate, he was active previous than I had thought, he sports no beard and he has no tattoos. Rick Matthews before (1997-2002):
