90s Nostalgia ad from Microsoft (So many feels) [For us 90s kids]

I loved being a 90s Kid!

I remember the pogs/slammers...my older siblings used to play with them all the time.

I used to get so scared of "Are You Afraid of the Dark":



The good ol' days. I grew up watching Nickelodeon and Snick. I remember being attracted to Josh Server in All That, even as a kid:

You know... that's true! I did notice that there are almost no toy ads on TV any more. Not even near Christmas!
TV used to be flooded with exiting new toys in the 80's and 90's. Wow...

I know right! I can't believe I am saying this. But I actually miss those toys ads! At least even back then they still have ads for McDonald's Toy set thing like toy of the week etc when they are promoting a movie/ animation. I can't remember the last time I actually saw such an ad . Irony that even though animation are getting more popular, toys are no longer as popular.

Do you guys still watch cartoon network and power rangers? I feel like after a certain age we start watching more MTV, Discovery, TLC, Network TV ect ect. Toy Ads would be a waste of money on those channels at nearly all time slots because kids are not watching that.


Just a guess, I'm thinking that if we spent more time watching nick Jr and Disney kids we'd see more ads geared towards them.

I haven't watch cartoon network In a while. I think almost few years ago. I remember they have ads for those pony pet things or those fancy barbie set toys. That's true these days i watch more Tv shows. Still some anime once in a while when I am in the mood.

I was born in 85. I remember the toys I had as I got older. Nintendo, Sega, Tamagachi, my Creepy Crawlers Oven which you poured the rubber goo into hot molds and grew gross creepy crawly rubber bugs (burned the crap out of myself on that one, a lot)

But we weren't real big on the technology gadgets in our home. Parents still stressed that there were too many things to do out in the real world, for me and my brothers and family. Fishing, boats, hunting, swimming, trail riding, horses, etc.

But I still can recall the times though, especially when I see ads like that one and others. It's fun to stop for a few minutes and go back. And what a different world it is today though, just in the short time from when I was a kid and a teenager.

I'd say if I had to choose between being a kid or a teenager today or back in my time period when I was those ages, I'd go back in time. Things were simpler, easier, FRIENDLIER!

another thing that's annoying is hearing 90 babies whine about how things are bad now talking about how easy things were in the 90s. huh? it's like they forgot that they wouldn't have any internet, smart phones, or any of the things that they take for granted today. like do folks want to take it back to looking into library catalogs, reading newspapers, typewriters, sega genesis, super nintendo and all of that and say those times are better than now. HELL NO especially considering how crazy things were back then. i'd rather stay in 2013. things are a whole lot better now.

Yes Ren & Stimpy has always been really disturbing for me. Some of the things they do are just so gross and wrong. Nickelodeon always had all these odd bizarre shows. CatDog etc.

We only had two channels to watch on TV. You had to turn the antenna to (possibly) get a third channel, if the weather was just right.

I think I can truthfully say we bonded more, but I think, out of anything, it was because we had nothing else to do. We spent a whole lot of time outdoors. During the summer, very often, it was all day long.

I read a lot--volumes and volumes of books.

But this is a thread about the 90s. I think because the Internet was still in its infancy, people didn't really hang out on the Internet until the very late 90s. One milestone passed.

Another milestone passed when we got mobile phones, but that was in the last 10 years.

It was certainly an interesting show.... how they ever managed to broadcast that is beyond me, but probably no longer allowed.

Another odd one was The Venture Brothers..... You had to know Johnny Quest to understand the puns in it.

I remember the 90s fondly but everyone remembers the generation they grew up in fondly. Would I want to be growing up in this current climate? No way, children are trying so hard to be adults they aren't enjoying being children.
