Bye. You will not turn the good sis DF's thread into a match between the queen and an unarmed forehead.

It took Rihanna 7 tries to get a #1 album. The Queen got it right the first time... and the next 3 times.

    16 Grammys.

...to 5. Betch, she got that in ONE night.

    "It was interpreted wrong."

Is this the standard line publicists are trained to give?!
For all sad words of tongue and pen,
The saddest are these, 'It might have been.'

Ain't nobody here for that pomp and posed bullshit of her ass. We all know Matthew Knowles is/was on the Grammy committee so those weren't earned. More like bartered...

At least they didn't spout off with the cheapest non-apology 'I'm sorry if anyone was offended'.

Like some others...I don't care if his apology is fake. The fact he had to make it and the team had to back it and he's being forced to do it is enough for me. The lesson has to be made clear again and again in the US apparently....it is not okay to bash homos.

Even if that was true, what can you tell me about album sales? Fans buy those. Oh, and speaking of fans:

Sorry but as a celebrity representing a national sports league he is NOT entitled to his own opinion here.

He should be disciplined for what he said despite his halfhearted apology.

I would expect nothing less if he made a racist or vulgar comment in public.

Statistically there should be at least one man in the locker room who has sexual interest in other men.

Chris if you don't want men to objectify you sexually then wearing skin tight pants in front of a large audience isn't the best idea.

Ain't nobody here for no damn pomp and pageantry performances at a concert. If I wanted that I could either watch Miss America for their opening performance choreography or go to a drag queen show, where it is at least fun...

Rihanna, Janet, hell even Ciara would be more entertaining in concert over Beyonce...

I scrolled up through our conversation and I've managed to keep it cute and not insult you, personally. Is insulting Rihanna hurting you in some way? =\ If so, that's a personal problem. The numbers speak for themselves.

You can go on and go use "pomp" for the umpteenth time. You should be at LEAST 18 years old, which means you're either in AT LEAST your senior year of high school or have already graduated. Surely there are other words you can use.

As much as I find his comment offensive I don't agree that he shouldn't be allowed to say it.

Do we want people to stop saying these type of things simply because they can't... or do we want people to stop saying these things because more and more believe it's wrong?

Silencing unpopular opinions will just make it more difficult to tackle. He should be free to show his ignorance and then have to deal with the criticism. If you push something underground it will just become more extreme and rebellious types will be more drawn to it.

^^^ Isn't silence a good message for people to know something is wrong, though?

I don't mean silence in an oppressive way to stop someone from speaking out but if a 7 year old boy is sitting down at the Cheesecake factory and see two men hold hands walking in he is bound to stop what he is doing. His next move is to look at his parents, look at the people around him, and observe their reactions. If these people make rude comments, shout, or act rude he will see that it's okay to act like that.

However, if this boy looks around and sees people smiling, eating their food, and continuing on with life, isn't their silence regarding the gheys a message to him that it is just another day?

    I think so.

    I think so.
Well that's the thing you can't force it on people in these type of situations.

You need an open discussion about the topic where all opinions are allowed.

The tendency is that the more it's okay to talk about homosexuality from all sides the more it starts to turn in our favor. Well in most countries.

Either way I'm not a fan of limiting peoples freedom of speech like that, even if they are "role models" (I hate that term by the way). If you don't mind it on this particular subject like this then it might bite you in the ass later.

It's always really awkward and well, lame, when famous people speak their mind and then "take it back" with a press release shortly after. Give me a break.
