    Re: 2013 MLB thread

I'm not so anti-Boston this year because of what happened with those two crazy jihadists at the Boston Marathon. I do want St. Louis to do well and am very glad that Carlos Beltran not only played after his amazing catch he had appeared to be injured but had two hits and knocked in a run. Sucks to be almost always working late, just so many things going on recently haven't really had the energy to post much so I'm very sorry, Joey. Want this so badly to be something the Mets will be playing for, soon...please baseball gods!!!!!!!!!!!

Yep, they did earn it and really it was a gritty, gutty team effort...you might mention Big Papi but until he became a Red Sox he was a nondescript player with Minnesota with good potential but nothing else. I'm a Mets fan and while I'm not anti St. Louis it's not like I'm enthusiastic about them... great history, organization and fans but they still were the last club to beat us in the postseason. Back in 2006, seventh game at Shea Stadium in the NLCS and just thinking about Wainwright freezing Beltran(now ironically his teammate) with a called strike 3 to end the series and the Mets hopes still not something we Mets fans can completely get over.

Especially after what happened on Patriot's Day I just am happy for the city of Boston... their Bosox gave them something to cheer about, and going from the bottom of the barrel last year to a World Series championship has got to be sweet. This was actually the first Red Sox World Series championship since 1918 actually won in front of the home fans... both in 2004 and 2007 it was out on the road so a really poignant and happy moment for Boston.

I'm happy Boston won too but it's kind of bittersweet in a way. Because I think back to game 7 of 01 and how that ended. If there was any team that deserved to have the fairytale ending,it was the Yanks that year, even though if it hadn't been for Kym blowing back to back saves, there wouldn't have even been a game 7.
