Here is the 1968 Pulitzer Prize winner of the Spot News Photography: "The Kiss of Life" photographed by Rocco Morabito.
A utility worker, J.D. Thompson, is suspended on a utility pole and giving mouth to mouth resuscitation to a fellow lineman, Randall G. Champion, who was unconscious and hanging upside down after contacting a high voltage line.
Champion survived and lived until 2002, when he died of heart failure at the age of 64. Thompson is still living.
Its a stunning photo. Without knowing the background, it looks homoerotic, but, quick action by his buddy saved a man's life. Awesome.

Imagine the anxiety Thompson may have been feeling up there on the pole, not knowing if he could save his friend or not, knowing he alone could reach him in time.
