Lyrics weren't that easy to make out, which makes it hard for them to be funny. When I could make them out they appear to repeat a lot...no joke is funny if you do it over and over (unless your audience is stoned), something SNL forgot about 20 years back.
And my general response to the "accusation" that the boys are bottoms is...you say that like it's a BAD thing. Love bottoms myself.

LOLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL
I just saw this. It's so funny LOLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL
It's actually quite catchy.
This has always been my issue with a lot of musical comedy. A punchline can be great until you've heard it fifty times in five minutes. I love comedians like Tim Minchin, but halfway through most of his songs, I get bored and find myself wishing they were over.
I can't help but take a position similar to that of Hank Hill on Christian Rock: "You're not making comedy better, you're just making music worse."![]()
I agree that when lyrics are on repeat, it reduces the comedy.
The front part of the song is super hilarious LOL
(I hope I got the lines right)
It say his first upon his Grindr,
Verstaile ya Mkay,
Gurl you know you'r super Gay
LOL![]()
I don't wish to be a buzz-kill, but I guess I just don't see comedy in the implication that a man who prefers to bottom is somehow 'gayer' than a man who prefers to top. It's not that I'm being oversensitive or that I find it hugely offensive, but simply that I can't help but roll my eyes at the insipidity of it all.
It's one of the primary reasons I didn't particularly enjoy this music video.
LMAO funny clip god I love Willam.
I don't feel like reading the whole thread. I'll just pretend that it's following the same pattern as the thread for Bruno, and the one for Katy Perry's "Ur So Gay" that we had back in the day.
* Posters who pissed themselves laughing, and are watching it on repeat.
* Posters who find it dull.
* Posters who found it offensive.
* The lumping of the last two groups into the same group.
* Posters explaining the humor to those who didn't get it.
* Posters explaining humor, the concept, to those who didn't get it.
* Posters explaining that it isn't offensive because "it's satire".
* A protracted argument about what satire is, and if this actually applies.
* Posters who keep bumping the thread because they watched it again, and it keeps getting funnier.
* At least one rant about "music/movies these days".
* Posters explaining about "learning to laugh at ourselves".
* Posters angrily stating that laughing with homophobia isn't "laughing at ourselves".
* Posters declaring that those who like the piece are "what's wrong with gays these days".
* Posters declaring that those who dislike the piece are "what's wrong with gays these days".
* The thought-it-would-never-happen day when the thread finally moves to the second page.
* The near-immediate amnesia about the work in question.
The last two probably won't happen for at least another two weeks.
Lex
Lol, I don't need to make excuses not to like a video. It's dumb and offensive (clearly I'm not the only one to think so) AND I dislike Willam. Two separate things, and the second only marginally contributes to the first. Him not caring about my existence adds him to a pile of about 6 billion other people, so - not that unique.
And your attempts at "gotcha" are sadly out of focus![]()

If you had scrolled down a bit, you would have seen this: http://www.justusboys.com/forum/thre...oy-is-a-Bottom
God some of you guys really need to lighten up a bit. Not everything with the word Gay connected to it has to be an equality march. It's okay to have some light-hearted fun sometimes. The video was just that, light hearted fun, at least that was its intention. I preferred the Wilson Phillips Parody about chicken or whatever it was.
coor bottoms 2
forum gettin happy then?
ha
thankyou
Sloppy is a power bottom.
Have you heard that Katy Perry song "I Kissed a Girl"? Sn't that the greatest song EVER? Oh, wouldn't it be great if they made a gay male version of it? "I kissed a boy and I liked it..." That would be so cool!
Lex
What was I saying in my previous post?
Sloppy you are a naughty boy..............behave![]()

I hold a different interpretation from you two. I don't believe the song endorses the idea that bottoms are "shameful" or "more gay" but rather attacks it through satire. I think sometimes gay men segregate themselves into categories based on sexual taste but these categories are actually discriminatory prescriptive judgments. In other words, some gay men see topping as more masculine (and thus more "straight"), which is a tragically absurd idea. I think William's song criticizes the tendency to connect sexual taste with social value. The lyrics quite explicitly illustrate the drag queens' own desire for penetration. They're not shaming this desire but celebrating it.
Furthermore, I think the song uses the sexual act of bottoming as a metaphor for homosexuality itself. Just as some gay men are ashamed of bottoming, many gay men are ashamed of being gay. The video illustrates this metaphor quite clearly because it uses two twinks. The first is the one who wakes up in the bed and gets chased by the queens. The second is the one wearing the blue briefs and holding the enemas. I think we can agree that Boy 2 clearly likes to bottom, especially when he bends over in the shower scene. But Boy 1's sexual role is intentionally kept ambiguous. The queens call him a bottom, but he does take the top role in the shower scene after all. Regardless, he constantly runs away from the queens like he has something terrible to hide. I think he is running from his homosexuality and not necessarily a taste for bottoming (or topping for that matter). His shame comes from the fact that he likes dick, which is why he puts "versatile" on his grindr to make him appear "more straight." In this way, then, the song's title "Boy is a Bottom" can also be read as "Boy is Gay." The queens are certainly not degrading homosexuality. They are making fun of the idea that people should hide their true selves.
Parody and satire always carry the risk of misunderstanding, but I think we need to remember that demonstrating an idea is not the same thing as agreeing with it. Whatever you might think of the music video's artistic elements, I think William's message is positive because it exposes and condemns a strain of self-internalized homophobia. I didn't see the same offensiveness as you guys did. Maybe you could re-watch the video and see if my arguments make sense.

Funny parody and very catchy! I liked the Grindr reference. I think 80% of guys that claim to be verse end up wanting to bottom that moment. lol
I liked it, I get off on both drag, and boy, nice underwear pics.
