    Smartphone shopping

I'm a bit of a techno-tard, and I'm not even that old! So I've had my LG Rumor 2 since '09, and needless to say it's not the latest technology out there.

The only reason I'm really considering a new phone is because I want to get Grindr, Growlr, Scruff, those lovely gay aps my friends are raving about.

And since a new smartphone or i Phone is going to cost me a pretty penny anyway (even used ones on eBay go for around $300), I might as well get one that could play youtube videos, netflix, all that fun stuff...

So what will I need to be able to do those things? 2G? 3, 4, 8, 16G? The Sprint lady recommended the Galaxy 2 or 3. I've looked at some iPhones in the store. I've considered a Blackberry as well, though I don't think one can download Grindr on them which is a deal-breaker for me. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated!

If you're on Sprint, the Galaxy S3, HTC Evo LTE, or LG Optimus G will all be fantastic handsets. The Evo and S3 are older though, so they'll be replaced sooner. The Optimus G is pretty awesome, but its camera is not as good as the other two. The Evo and Optimus also have better screens than the S3, though the Optimus' screen is slightly smaller. (That makes it easier to use, actually, which I liked about it)

Best advice is to go into the store and use them all, and see which one you like best.

^ Good choice, especially since you feel technology is sometimes against you. You have a very straightforward OS and the most popular mobile development platform, providing a huge number of great apps to choose from.
