Britney fans like to point it out when other singers do it because she gets 90% of the critisicm despite it being a common practise in the business.
Again the difference is that she doesn't try to hide it while most others do.
And it's an exaggeration that she has never sung live (although she has now completely stopped doing it for few years now).
Comparing a Britney Spears concert and a ceremony with the national anthem is simply comparing apples and oranges.
Recently I heard a 'wise guy' story that I had a party at my home for twenty-five men. It's an interesting story, but I don't know twenty-five men I'd want to invite to a party. ~Joan Crawford
She sang the HELL out of that anthem!
Yes, ma'am.![]()
First off, greatest vocal rendition of the National Anthem, and the best selling. Can't sing? Never sang? Try again.
Second, the woman is dead. Get over your petty hatred or shut the fuck up about it; keep it to yourself, it is really old, really tired, and it's not like anyone you like is any better, more memorable or more famous for their voice than she was, ruining her career or not.
Third, where does the OP mention he is a stan for Houston? And if he does, who died and made you the resident Whitney hater? Each time a member mentions her you TRY and read them to filth. Someone needs to remind you that stepping on shit still makes you smell like shit.

We must deceive to belong..."
^ I think he was talking about Britney Spears.
Please stop saying Shitney... it's very disrespectful to her and her fans.
Uh no it is not a common practice. No one does it as often as Britney.
Even singers who are not known for vocal ability like Rihanna, Katy, Miley Cyrus, etc sing LIVE for the most part.
what kind of delusion smh
and for that Shitney comment...I really do hope you're not one of those Britney fans that freely use the terms Floptina or Beyawnce or whatever, otherwise that would make you a hypocrite
hmm..I think I know where the gay superbowl at
they had actual reasons for it, though, not just what I can only assume to be fear or laziness.
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2009/0..._n_160216.htmlCarole Florman, a spokeswoman for the Joint Congressional Committee on Inaugural Ceremonies, said the weather was too cold for the instruments to stay in tune.
"They were very insistent on playing live until it became clear that it would be too cold," said Florman in a telephone interview Thursday night.
"killing a man should take long enough for one's conscience to get in the way."
It's more common than you think because most of them use pre-recorded vocals rather than CD tracks.
Celine Dion and Mariah Carey are good examples. 99,999% of people believe they have never done such a thing because they are powervocalists and only use pre-recorded vocals when miming.
Out of all the celebrity pop acts Britney is the one who lipsyncs the most. But sometimes people speak like she's the only one doing it.
Janet Jackson and Cher lipsync OFTEN and often just use the CD vocals just like Britney. Nobody seems to give a shit.
I'm not a 12 year old girl so I don't use terms like that.
I'm a bit stunned that this is even a topic of conversation in the States; don't you all have enough to talk about?
At outdoor events in dodgy weather, it is standard practice for the music to be pre-recorded. The opening of the Sydney Olympics was totally pre-recorded including the National Anthem and yet there wasn't even a murmur in the press. Get over it, people. We no longer live in the age of failures being allowed or accepted so pre-recording is a must. Give the girl a break, FFS.
Some people don't want to talk about social issues and politics every single day.
Britney is far more interesting a topic, tbqh. She's more fascinating at a standstill than neraly all people at the height of their powers.

They should have called Yoko Ono.![]()
Yoko Ono was busy sucking Lady Gaga's cock
Simon Cowell on Britney:
“She’s a very, very mysterious individual. I don’t know what’s going on in her head half the time, and I believe that mystique is part the reason why she has survived for so many years. I’ve worked with her now for five or six months; you don’t get much out of her and that makes her more interesting in a weird way.”
Since the whole breakdown it's like we haven't seen much of her personality. The few times she does interviews it's very scripted by her team.
She's in some ways becoming a female Michael Jackson. Hopefully with a different ending though. She almost pulled a Marilyn Monroe back in 2008.
I've grown quite fond on Yoko Ono as of late. Still can only take her singing in limited doses. But I've been enjoying her art and writing.

She comes here every year to make sure the city spends more on electricity.
You're right. At the same time I can't help but hold some small amount of contempt for the large number of people who consistently avoid things that actually matter but get this worked up about a singer. Just seems like so much misdirected passion for something that doesn't matter.
That comment isn't at you Laufey. Just at this topic in general.
I'm late to this topic, but I am disgusted that so many so-called journalists who reported that Beyonce lip synched. Beyonce was singing to a backing track. Unless the definition of lip synching changed after the inauguration, the definition does not include any form of live singing. I also agree with those who stated that there are far more serious things to get worked up about and it's a standard practice in the music industry.
Someone said people don't care about Britney lipping because people already know she does it and doesn't pretend to sing live. Britney has been clowned her whole career for lip synching. People just now know she's going to do it now, but I remember within the last few years fans being upset and wanting refunds for her lip synching a whole concert. Any singer who lip synchs doesn't do so with the intention of the audience knowing they are doing it or they wouldn't even mouth the words.
If you don't stand for something, you'll fall for anything.
I mean seriously lol, where in the OP did I mention Britney? Sometimes reading through topics on this forum is so funny because it's almost as if some people are reading something that's not even there.
