should I get the iMac fusion drive or not?
I'm definitely ordering a new iMac. I can't decide if the fusion drive is worth the extra $250. Thoughts? And please mac haters, spare me just don't comment. Thanks.

I would wait until they get all the kinks worked out of it first...

I've heard mixed things on it too. A lot of people have complained about the varied performance because it is a hybrid and not two actual drives. I would suggest buying it and dumping the algorithm program and have it set up as a SSD [which is sexy] and a regular HD.

I stuck a 128 gig SSD in mine alongside the 1TB hard drive and put the OS and all my apps on the SSD. Cost to do that now would be about £60. This, I believe, gives me the best of both worlds at a fraction of the price. I have time machine setup to backup both drives to my synology NAS which is itself backed up to an external HD. I really don't want to lose stuff!

^I've heard of quite a few people doing that with the minis [mainly my brother]. Course there is the HDMI problem with them.

It depends what you use your computer for. If you do a lot of photo/video editing, it would be well worth it. Otherwise, you probably won't notice it.
