I got a collection of avant-garde films from the 20s and 30s on DVD, and I'm watching them. I thought I'd either be greatly moved by them, or have my mind blown, or I'd totally think they were pretentious bullshit. Instead...I'm just kind of liking them. I can picture the filmmakers' ideas, and getting their friends involved, and having fun creating their "art". I don't think my mind is being expanded, really, but I'm having fun making my way through the collection.
