It was like a bad 3 hour episode of Glee
Les Miserable.
what do you think of it?

I didn't see the stage show.
I don't plan on seeing the film.
It's just not something I care to see...
The Three Musketeers... Bashful, Chrisglass, and Ronboy!
Most muscals are dull beyond words.
Plus it's about the French...........pass.

I hadn't planned on seeing it, and after your glowing review........I'm still not planning on seeing it.
But if I did see the movie, and wanted to put a bullet thru my head during the movie I'd refrain....that's rude, others might be enjoying it.
Yeah...uh....I am glad you wrote this...just showed my lover your review. I know he wants to see it but thanks to your review we now get to wait until it comes on DVD! WooooHoooo!
I enjoyed the movie and thought it was a decent film production of my favorite musical. If you do not appreciate musicals, then you probably won't understand this film.

I saw it on Christmas day as a present from a friend buying my ticket.
...We all receive bad gifts at least once, right?
Let's just say that I'm glad I didn't have to leave my house or pay to see it. Oh, Lincoln goes on that list, too. Holy fuck was that a boring movie.

I've not watched it, but I can say that last year in April when we visited London, we walked through the set where they filmed the giangantic elephant thingies.

Unless you just have a low tolerance for movie musicals, before you put a bullet in your head, you should read the book.
Actually, there are any number of books that would fit that bill.
The Great Gatsby comes to mind…

I have no plans to see the film. I don't like musicals in general, though i have seen Les Mis at the theatre, and it was good.
Warwickshire Born 'n' Bred.
That's just great, Pete. Mitchy and I had planned to go -- but now you've put him off it. Nice work. So now it's just gonna be me in a dark theater with just Hugh Jackman and no X-men.

Almost put a bullet in your head during this movie? What stopped you?![]()
Who would of thought certain movies weren't for everyone.
Saw the stage production in DC and found it just too schmaltzy. A Netflix candidate.
agreed. that shit is BORING!
i used to see this tv commercial all the time growing up and i always wondered wtf the big deal was where they had to play it 8 times in one hour.
the narrator when he says cats.
oh god... this commercial is funnier than before looking at it now.
lol @ the youtube comment "now all these cats are unemployed".
one thing about the closet/you don't have to hurry/it will be bad tomorrow/so brother, don't you worry![]()
Not all musicals.
I fell in Love with Hair when I first saw those long years ago.
Maybe I didn't relate with Les Miserable but there something wrong with superstars making musicals. Maybe if they had used unknowns with actual singing talent I would have it enjoyed it more.
I'll catch it when it comes to usa tbs or tnt.
I may be bad, but I'm perfectly good at it.
I liked it. But I was surprised to see it's an opera.

I've seen the stage production and it's just dreadful. I can tolerate most musicals but this is one phenomenon I just don't get.
I really enjoyed it - singing along and everything...
Nuttin' worth watchin' since Gold Diggers of 1935.
Watch Funny Girl... It's the best!!!!
Wow, very divided and bipolar reactions - and it's not coming from Cloud Atlas!
I haven't seen the movie, but I'm dying to see it! And least for so much sexual tension between Hugh Jackman and Russell Crowe![]()

Any life amounts to no more than one drop in the limitless ocean. Yet what is any ocean but a multitude of drops?
I had a cursory knowledge of the musical, and its general plot. But, was so moved by the movie version! I loved it! I liked the music before, now I love it. I never realized though, just how depressing a storyline it was.....I was crying at the end, ..lol..but trying not to show it. Looking around the audience, I wasn't the only one....
edit:...while leaving the theater. there were two teen girls in front of me. One said "I thought it was a musical,..not an Opera..:/"......the girl next to her said..."I didn't know there would be singing in it...I thought it was a movie.".......![]()

I Loved Anne Hathaway! <3
The rest of the movie... Blech
I wanna know what it'd be like, to find perfection in my pride, to see nothing in the light.
OK I just watched The Life of Pi
Ang Lee fucked the hulk and he made being gay boring in Brokeback and who would have thought he could have done better here. Apparently the twats in hollywood. What a snore fest it was
I really enjoyed it, but then again I enjoy theatre.
Musicals and Plays are never boring to me.
Im a little surprised at the reviews when I read that people didn't expect all the singing. Its is Les Mis, afterall.
I would not recommend Les Mis to anyone that doesn't like musical theatre. Grease it is not.
However, I do love Grease.

Does the second movie indicate Pete is going to make reviews about movies (whether he thinks it's shitty or not shitty)?

Excellent
I loved it as well. (I brought my kids to see it because they are obsessed with the whole story and have been for a year - all four of them just loved the movie)
But I would not suggest that anyone see it without knowing the story before he goes. It is more like a play, in that sense, and the more you know about it ahead of time, the more you can appreciate the production.
We just watched it on DVD the other night (awards screener) and well, simply put - I knew going into it what I was about to watch. I love the story to begin with and that's probably what made it tolerable. Ann was screaming a lot, but again, I knew what to expect. If you're not a musical performance person, this is not the movie for you. If you can appreciate it for what it is and you know the story, then you'll enjoy it, or at least be able to get through it.
**A bad 3 hour episode of Glee.... LMAO! Is there such a thing as a good episode of Glee in any time format?

Yeah, it wasn't great. The minute Russell Crowe started singing it couldn't put itself together. Shameless ploy to get an oscar all around really.
And the Academy fell for it.
Too long for me, I may check it out with my mom, on one of our movie nights when it released, because if your not LOTR you are not worth three hours of my day. And there is no such thing as a good episode of glee, they all bad or worse.

Eh, this musical is not good for a movie adaptation. Snoozefest of a movie.
