What was failed to be mentioned is the attacker had knives on him. So I'm not sure it is fake.

It's not fake, but it was meant to be a statement, not an assassination attempt. The gun wasn't fake, it was a gas gun and wouldn't have hurt the douchenozzle (unfortunately).
What's more disturbing is that the guy got beat up instead of having his rights read and arrested.

He's not crazy. Anyone in Bulgaria who doesn't want to kill that scumbag is crazy. Not that they should actually try, of course, but it became clear neither was this guy.
Dogan is a viper and a vampire. And he's rarely in the "opposition". Since democracy came to Bulgaria, very few administrations haven't had him in the coalition, and he is riding the wave of Turkish support, even though he has never actually done anything for the Turkish minority in Bulgaria, other than to bus people from Turkey to vote for him in each election. Plus, in Bulgaria there is no "THE opposition". There are multiple oppositions. We have a multi-party system.
