Ive been in a good steady with a guy for about a year and I have fallen in love with him. This week i went on a vacation and yesterday I found out he cheated on me. :'( he told me himself and said he regretted the act the second he did it...basically I don't know what to do...I could use some advise.

You don't give enough context, so I can't give much advise, but my theory is this - if it's a one time slip, it can probably be worked around. If he does it again, dump his ass regardless of his reasons or excuses.

I dont know if I can forgive him...the last person I dated cheated on me and then dumped me for another guy...it really messed up my self-esteem and ability to trust witch were already low before that. My boyfriend really helped to boost these things and the he does this. It really hurts me...

Try to make this about you and not him. What I mean is this. If you have trouble leaving him or wondering what he's doing when you're not together it will wear you down. I don't buy the regret the second it was over. People in relationships have the ability to imagine the regret just contemplating the action. All that being said, infidelity is repairable, but it will take forgiveness and trust. I hope it works out for you.

Being hurt is one thing, and you have a right to it. But try to think calmly on the situation. He didn't keep it a secret, he admitted right away, and he says he is sorry. I would say, take him at his word, and try to forgive him.
