Gun Appreciation Day: 5 wounded in gun show shooting accidents

    http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/0...n_2511378.html

Accidental shootings at gun shows in North Carolina, Indiana and Ohio left five people injured Saturday, the same day that thousands of gun advocates gathered peacefully at state capitals around the U.S. to rally against stricter firearm limits. At the Dixie Gun and Knife Show in Raleigh, a 12-gauge shotgun discharged as its owner unzipped its case for a law enforcement officer to check at a security entrance, injuring three people, state Agriculture Department spokesman Brian Long said.

The irony is hilarious. I feel safer already.

Yeah, but those were responsible accidents! By responsible (would-be) gun owners. It's not like total inbred rednecks just went and grabbed guns and shot themselves or anything!

Those are RESPONSIBLE gun owners leaving their weapons loaded so they can prove a point about protecting their gun rights... oh wait...

I mean seriously... if you want to own one, check if it is loaded before you take it to some stupid gun show.

    Oh the irony!

Why do they have a security check at the entrance to a gun show? To see if anyone is bringing in a gun?

I've been dubbed retarded on youtube for arguing against responsible gun owners. Clearly not ALL responsible, which is much the point of gun restriction.

What's funny is when the gun lovers heard the shots they scattered... ran away!

    http://usnews.nbcnews.com/_news/2013...o-indiana?lite

Why didn't they grab a gun and run towards the shootings?

So is this an example of the Obamallegiance effect ? Or do different devices link to diff articles ?

    Priceless.....

Well Chance. I took the 30 seconds required to just Google the story.

Here are a couple of sources with the wire copy.

what's "priceless" is commentary about a subject or rather an article about an event - by a few of the "regulars" with their usual disdain for gun owners blah blah blah

an imaginary tee up it appears - no worries - we'll still supply our disdain

When everything fails, attack the source. Sorry chance, but I too posted on this in a different thread (well on the incident in North Carolina). It's reported throughout the news. What is this Obamallegiance crap? This thread isn't about Obama. It's about dumb people leaving guns loaded when going to a ridiculous show...

    Yes, attack the source.

And "Obamallegiance"..? That's just more name calling and belittling from him when he's cornered. When in doubt, blame Obama and belittle anyone who approves of the President.

The one story of the man shot because he thought the gun was unloaded but had a chambered round shows a potential gun safety legislation, if manufacturers could come up with a design that prevents the gun from firing when the clip is ejected or requires the chamber to eject as part of the clearing the magazine it would probably cut accidental gun shot injuries dramatically. Adding a clearing barrel at the entrance of the shows for doing the initial safety check would probably be a good idea too.

    'Obamallegiance' is like Benghazi Syndrome.

Chance starts twitching the moment that there is a thread that has nothing to do with Obama.

It is like posting Tourettes syndrome. Except it is really just a clump of his poo to fling when he has nothing of substance to add to the thread, but can't resist anyway.

Anyhow....I think that the accidental gun discharges are hilarious since they didn't actually harm any other person than the expert, responsible gun owners themselves.

That's why we all love Chance so dearly. He's like a puppy that nobody wants.

Whatever happened to this Benghazi talking point anyway? Did Fox realize they weren't getting anywhere with it so they decided to focus on "Obama is going to take away your guns" now? Whatever it takes.

And it is fucking hilarious about the gun show shootings. Proves these NRA gun nuts are just that.....nuts.

    Flail away fellas

A thread about article A - with article B attached

Delivers faux commentary about Article A

    With vigor and disdain

    As if

    Reading is step 1

    Gun owners are not evil

    On topic - I think

Who cares? The part of the article was still there. And nobody claimed gun owners were evil. Most are just advocating tougher restrictions including more stringent background checks. And I wonder where the "faux commentary" is coming from exactly lol.

sorry to "bully" you by pointing out that you responded to a thread based on an attachment that wasn't there - yet you had no problem providing (apparently NEW) context to the faux story - the good news is you were not the only one - plenty of faux-nee "yeah i read that and here's my take"

auto pilot is being kind not a personal attack

    faux-nee - I like that

it all goes back to morning joe - it really does - on friday, no joe and mika but there was a convo about the progressive ERROR in demonizing gun owners - NRA members who are good people who just happen to have guns and want to keep them - by definition with the faux-nees here they are bad people - guns are bad - etc.

better time spent with the facts - which are a winner for the pro gun control crowd

but demonization is so much more fun and commenting on an article that doesn't exist is chubby inducing

Chance maybe you should stay on topic and make posts that carry some sort of depth instead of constantly making insults or being condescending. The sad matter is when you do this you're really only making yourself look bad.

Agreed. I thought this was hilarious when I heard about it. Men open fire at three different gun shows and all the gun nuts do is duck for cover and run!

Well, fortunately, only five people were shot at three different gun shows during the protest to show how safe are guns, and how it would be irresponsible to try to control them.

^ Sorry, but JUB's absurd 5 min limit to edit posts prevents error correction. (I connect over 3G, and it often takes 5 minutes even for the post to register).

In addition to the 5 people wounded yesterday, there was that woman recently who killed her brother while attempting to pose with a gun for a Facebook photo.

    Definitely!

And were those entrance security guards at the show armed? They could have shot the fellow with the shotgun before he walked in, preventing injuries.

And we should have a longer time period to edit posts.... 20 minutes or so.

Wrong. what faux story? It's not a faux story. The OP made a simple mistake. Sometimes when I have too many articlse I may post the incorrect one to my argument. It was corrected later. In actuality, I get Huffingtonpost emails daily and already read the article before. So I didn't click the link.

And if you faux stories look at the crap coming out of Faux News.

Let's all be nice to Chance. He's spent 4 years angry about Obama being President and it's another long 4 years for him.

By the way Chance two of my college friends are still in active duty at this very moment in war efforts they don't want to be in because of your President's 8 years. So thank you for that.

And we should all probably bear in mind that if the government could rig Newtown as a preamble for confiscating guns, they could certainly rig a few shootings on Gun Appreciation Day to make gun ownership look bad.

    So sad.

A mind is a terrible thing to waste.

But back to topic....it is hilarious. And sadly tragic at the same time. I'm just amazed that more rootin' tootin' gun fanatics didn't blow their toes off this weekend.

Cozee, of Indianapolis, was hospitalized for treatment. Police say the shooting was accidental and no charges will be filed.
I think charges should be filed for being stupid.

Accidental self-inflicted gun wounds by gun nuts = hilarious

Accidental murders/suicides = tragedy, even if it's gun nuts

    What is wrong with you?

    Like I don't know

Too bad you have nothing to say on any subject

    Must be lonely and boring

    Pathetic

I'm all for any Group rallying peacefully but the fact that they picked MLK weekend for Gun appreciation is so in-your-face. Glenn Beck did something similar a couple of years ago...Any weekend in the month of January and they choose MLK weekend..

You're right. I pity anyone who is this particular someone else...

Anyway, you would be destroyed to know how easy it is to keep up with your drivel

If this is a sad attempt at satire, it fails big time.

The trick is to get that there's nothing to get. Condescending Chance is being condescending and fake sad over the immorality of calling gun nuts shooting each other in a day celebrating gun safety "irony".

    Which, btw, it is.
