This isn't all women. There are a lot of really attractive gay men. If they are hot, they are hot. It doesn't diminish their attractiveness to me.
For example. "My husband", Russell.
Im not saying that this applies to you, but if attractive men are no longer attractive once you find out that they are gay, this could be rooted in homophobia.

The implication of referring to a man because he's gay as "a waste" is too icky for me. And yes, the women I've heard speaking this way mean just that-- because they are of no use to women sexually and because they won't "pass those beautiful genes" they are a waste. Their beauty and sex appeal is going to waste. It's 'wasted on other men'.
But, no, there is nothing wrong with a straight women losing interest in perusing a man upon finding out that he's gay. That's normal and to be expected.
lol, Nope. They just get relegated to eye-candy for me and many other straight women. Just like many gay men appreciate beautiful straight men without deeming them "a waste."
For me, an example would be Zachary Quinto. Loved him in Heroes early on, suspected he was gay but still crushed on him. Later on, he came out, but I still love him and find him attractive like so many of his fangirls. And I am still 'shipping Uhura/Spock in the new Star Trek films like many other women. And many women, who were already writing slash fiction about his characters are just that much more interested in him with regard to their m/m fantasies. *shrug* IDGAF that he's gay.
Sadly I only have straight friends I really need to get some gay friends.
I do find it hard to make gay friends, in the past I have but then I end up sleeping with them and ruin the friendship.
