Thinking perhaps erroneously due to the the legal world fallout from the Wolfenden report and the world response to AIDS , the gay male community has assumed the incorrect impression that the Western world has overcome its general blanket rejection . Certainly just not being jailable now is a major issue but I do wonder if in practise this isn't accompanied with a general social decline . If our society has gradually come to accept lesbians the same cannot really be said of gay males . Thinking of the hundreds of masculinoid single women media-politics - hundreds - I can not think of one clearly gay male ., moreover the males are all married to PROVE that they are not gay . The trend or fashion 90s of bisexuality included again not one man I can think of .

there is no male equivalent of "gal-pal " but it's nice not being in jail .
