^Even if he fell off the wagon, I would still think very highly of him. Fate has thrown him quite a few curveballs, and one recent incident here on JUB involving Waffles may have chipped away at his self-confidence, which doesn't help a man in recovery.

Speaks for me as well. I basically made this thread hoping someone who could contact him would do so and just let him know people are thinking about him. So thanks again to all of you who have done so.

Wow, it took me less than half an hour to find it - I found my notes from 2010 with his phone number on it. No guarantee that it still works. I'll have to try. Right now the phone isn't working??? (MY phone, that is - it's been down for at least seven hours.) I hope he can come out as the victor in all of this.

I also should check and see if he is still doing his dubstep radio show.

There were many different factors at play that helped me decide to start using again. I'm currently sitting at 3 days clean, though. The reason for my absence is that I didn't feel right posting on JUB while fucked up; I thought it would be disrespectful.

I apologise to everyone who messaged me on Facebook; I wasn't really in a position to reply or acknowledge your support; I was smoking pretty heavily and I didn't have the mental faculties to hammer out a response.

Definitely, WELCOME BACK! And, GOOD ON YOU for going clean again. Relapses can happen, but you're trying your best not to make it permanent, and that's what counts.

You were facing some stress over the Christmas holidays, which should now be passed, as well.

As you can see, from this thread, you have people out here who care about you. Many.

Dante, I don't want to fly in the face of AA or NA logic, and certainly don't want to be an enabler via rationalizations, but perhaps scoreboarding clean days isn't helpful.

If I were to say that I hadn't overeaten for three weeks, I think it would tend to make me hyperconscious of how much I love chocolate, or steak, or zombie's brains, or whatever.

Maybe it's just good to think to yourself, I've been clean and I am clean. That's really the one-day-at-a-time vantage point. Ultimately, you wouldn't even say that, as you would be focused elsewhere.

According to NA, each day clean is something worth celebrating. When I first entered the program a year and a half ago, it gave me a lot of pleasure to wake up in the morning and my first thought to be, "I'm now X days clean". At the outset, it's important to think about how far you've come, even if that means you haven't picked up the pipe for just two days.
